hah! YOU copypasta, *I* copypasta!!!
urm.... for me the issue would be latency. i've always had a hell of a time getting laptop based effects to be reliably as good sounding and not have any latency (any at ALL bugs the **** put of me. i'm pretty sensitive to it.). even with stuff like Guitar Rig that's designed flr that use.
and really.... you'll never get a fuzz to sound as good without it being an analog path.
so.... i think you'd enjoy it for awhile, them start thinking, "it does MOST things well enough... but it doesna do fuzz that great so i'll just add a fuzz or two..."...... but for each effect eventually.

Yeah, I'd for sure keep my dirt in pedal form.
And I'll continue the copy pasting (I asked the same thing on TB), wouldn't an audio interface pretty much bring the latency issue to a....well...non issue?

too lazy to tab over. good drivers on a good interface will help a lot, but you're always at risk with through the computer processing type routing.
i've had decent success with some effects on Ableton for gigging (we used it to give effects to my singer's vox in my last band). some worked well, some worked ok, some couldn't process a live signal in a way worth using live.
try it out first?

Do you guys know the feeling when you just hate the classifieds (we don't have craigslist over here, but I'm seriously getting into ebay classifieds) but at the same time you just get a boner because of all the shit that's too good to pass up? *sigh*
Look what they made me do:

Dudes, this sounds soo good! I could definitely do without the treble boost, that thing doesn't sound too good through my amp or with my guitar or whatever. I have pretty harsh trebley settings and trebley guitars too so it actually seems to muffle the sound a bit. But the fuzz is glorious. I have only played it for a couple of minutes and only at room volume. But it certainly kicks ass! It has a sustain control that should actually be labeled gate, because that's what it does. You can roll it back to be really gated (sort of like the Wem Pep box I had borrowed from Uni) and in middle positions it sounds like one of those 8-bit fuzzies with a crackliing decay (reminded me of a wolf computer in a tamer setting, but it's been a while since I had one so don't quote me on that) an full on it is just roaring sustain-ey fuzz. Works well with chords which is usually what makes me not like certain fuzzes (muffs, mostly) and I am in love. The tone switch turns the tone control on and off which leads to what I think might be a lower mids boost that you can control via a pot. Decay fizzles stay there but sound massive with the switch engaged. In short: I am in love!

At least I did not buy a cab. Thanks to Univalve who let me borrow his Cab.

Not anything that I have played or owned, tbh. But I LOVE the sound. This is my second roost. They are really warm and full bodied without losing the bite. To me it's a perfect balance between warm and growly and sharp and cutting. They aren't the most exact or clinical amps as well. You know those amps that show EVERY nuance of what you play? Amps that make it adible if you filed your nails or simply bit them off? It's not like one of those. It's like a warm, wet hole you can nail your tone into.
I would like one of the unforgiving sort too actually, but the one I know I want is pretty much out of reach money-wise for the moment. It will happen one day though. Image of the dream amp nsfw'ed for irrelevance to the thread topic. Oh well, I'll add odd nudity for the sake of the nsfw.
