TB has not worked for me for two days now. Is anyone else having trouble? I feel like I'm missing out on all the stuff. Ya know. The stuff!

So it's settled. My cover band is having a band meeting Tuesday night to fire our guitarist. I am not looking toward to this; we've been together for almost a decade, and I've been friends with him for like 15 years. But we have to do it. The other guys in the group have been friends with him even longer, they basically grew up together.

Yeah getting someone "special" tatted is a death nail for that reationship. I can't get on TB either... I Digwall picture that looks familiar is for sale on my local craigslist. I wanted to see if it's the same one as Shawn had posted.

So I got a question for you bassist playing sex machines out there. How do you play when you play? I've been finding that my back is shit and had to buy a stool like two years ago. So 90% of the time I play sitting down. This used to be so strange to me, but now I'm like "why would I stand?" What do you guys do?

I could see myself on stage somewhere sitting too. Like those old fucks on TB. lol

i stand. jiggle arhythmically. bop around then loe the beat.... well.... not really LOSE the beat... but move to a different off one that i"m playing to in my head.

I get accused headbanging while playing Robert Johnson songs... It depends on how well I know the song.. when I play I am mostly in full tilt energy mode even on ballads...

If I'm practicing and I'm tired, I sit....otherwise I stand. Bass phenom Trip that I took lessons from years ago always preached to me that the bass should be in the middle of the chest, so that it's at the same height whether you're standing or sitting. This makes TOTAL sense to me......but I can't fucking do it. My bass is at my hip and I'm usually running around the stage, jumping around, gyrating....I usually move more than the rest of the band combined. And like Behndy, it's usually off the beat. I get lots of jokes about how band mates watching me get out of rhythm. But my playing is always on beat. Even when playing tuba in a concert band/symphony, my foot always tapped off beat.

At home I'm sitting the majority of the time but I have a low celing upstairs. At practice there's a bar stool that I'll sit on at times but the vast majority of the time I'm standing up. If that's what you're asking.

When I am first learning a song or writing, I am sitting down. When I am in the latter stages of practicing a song, I do it standing up, because that's how I'll be playing on stage. To me, sitting down while playing a gig is something reserved for 75 year-old or 400-pound guys, or for styles of music that are really laid back and chill. If you're trying to rock out and sitting down, it just looks weird and lame. No offense to anyone, I hope.
