That's really clean, didn't know they did RDs back then with passives.

It's actually a touch more banged up than it shows in those. Lotta buckle dings and dents on the backside.

From what I learned, Gibson did three RD models. The Standard didn't have any active circuitry. Oddly, most of the RDs I hear about now that did have that active circuitry had it replaced during its lifetime. Granted, I'm working from a pretty small sample size. The RD Standard is a lot like a longer scale (Fender-length) reverse Firebird. This whole thing was nicely timed, as I'd been looking for a solidbody electric to play in standard tuning (my Tele is kept in a funky tuning and refuses to play right any other way) but didn't want anything plain-Jane.

This thing is definitely NOT plain-Jane.

When I first saw it, the light wasn't so good and I thought it was an ebony finish. In good light, it's this super-dark walnut finish, but anywhere else, it looks downright black.

Yeah, the Phantom clone was kinda pricey. Can't remember the maker though. Both those pics were taken at the shop. I don't own any guitars anywhere near that cool.

I am like over gassing for fuzz right now. I bought a hawk in a panic mode of not getting my tri/ram muff fast enough.

I have been obsessively watching videos of the Grey Stash/ Depth Charge/ TAFM / or any green muff based circuit.

I need some fucking help.
