Thinking about picking up a four string bass. On one hand I play bass in two bands now and my VI just isn't giving me enough boomy lows, on the other hand I don't have a bass amp at home and will therefore only be able to play with it 1-2 times a week.

Hmmmmm... Any good bass amps that take guitar with a buttload of effects really good? And that is affordable and not the size of a fridge?

Pretty much any good bass amp is going to take guitar with effects well.

Looks like an Ampeg flip top but in a more compact and modern format. It'd be rad if it held up sound wise.

Get an Ampeg or Gallien Krueger.

Oh, hey, you can borrow the shitty old Ibby bass I have laying around if you want to? It needs one hell of a setup though, the neck is bent as fuck.

EA: Thanks! I can borrow a Geddy Lee jazz bass if I want. I just prefer to own a piece of equipment if I'm going to use it for a while. I'm still considering the Yamaha I was looking at. Hmmmm. Maybe if I find a reasonably priced Ampeg.

Peavey is another option.
Basically those three have the most balls for your bucks but Ampeg and Gallien Krueger are my favourites.

Is there an alternative to a third hand expression pedal? I want to be able to control the depth on my RM-1N on the fly without having to bend down and mess with it. Keeping it off my board isnt really an option right now. Andrew tried to give it expression control but he said it didn't work out.

Alternatively, does anyone have a third hand pedal they could sell me?

Try an Option Knob maybe?
