I finally started Rick Perlstein’s books starting with Before the Storm, going roughly from Nixon’s failed 1960 campaign to the psychotic nutjobs’ disappointment when Goldwater lost in 1964. It’s striking how much the psychosis has been frozen in amber this whole time.

Some people seem to suggest that Melania is not down with MAGA, or maybe in private she is a moderating influence on her husband. I don't see that, at all. She's 100% down with MAGA, and while Husband may be somewhat personally annoying (just like any marriage) she absolutely loves the prestige, attention and money that comes along with being married to Dear Leader.

She spent years working her way up in the companionship industry to become a top earner in Eastern Europe. You think she's going to throw all that work away, just because he smells like french fries? That's nothing.

i’m sure she hates him, but is legally/contractually obligated to appear. she doesn’t want to be on the slow boat to Skovenia when one of the apparatckiki pulls her papers and she winds back doing German lesbian porn.

Reagan appointee blocked the blatantly unconstitutional birthright citizenship executive order as blatantly unconstitutional. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/01/23 ... itizenship

But I’m not counting this as done before the postmodernist “Supreme” Court gets to it.

Post-logic, Post-truth.

Alito quoting witch-hunter Matthew Hale shows what they are about. Anything that doesn't fit into their false categories (which are based on falsehoods and personal prejudice and ignorant religious zealotry) not only can but must be burned at the stake, strung up from trees (how most women where murdered during the witch hunts in the US/UK), wiped off the face of the earth.

We Europeans already feared that Trump would fall for Putin's honeyed words. Now his administration is praying the Russian propaganda. 100 percent of it. It is no surprise, but still a shock.

Let's all short TSLA. We can make some money and drink the Musk-rat's tears at the same time.

Nobody wants Teslas anymore. The Left hates Musk too much to buy them and the Right hates EVs. Tesla's market share in Europe shrank while the overall European market for EVs grew. So who is left to buy them, the Chinese? They're making their own EVs.

Also, because FUCK Elon Musk.

Never mind. D.E. Shaw and another institution both bought over a million shares each and are driving the price up.
