Most competent forum software nowdays is open source, so cost is not too much a factor. Also can be configured to run lighter, thus decreasing hosting costs.

In the off chance that Tom has time to read this, I'll make this suggestion again. Shark Tank required for diy builders. Again, I think it's extremely unfair to those that have paid their dues to have someone constantly selling their bullshit on here without doing the same. That's why the Tank exists. I'd name names, but come on, we all know who I'm talking about.

I know I'm relatively new here, but a software upgrade seems like a bummer to me. Unless it's a huge improvement. It's easy enough to just ignore the junk that doesn't really get used.

I was not referring to a complete overhaul. But shit like a more up to date search and mentions goes a long way. Besides, most new phpbb builds are wicked slick.
