Just scored a Boss PS-3 totally unintentionally. I was price-enforcing on eBay, and ended up winning the fucking thing. It's stupid cheap for how much PS-3s usually go for, but I still didn't really want to spend it.

just sell/trade it? If you got it for cheap you could make a profit with re-selling it. Or you sell it for the price you got it- it's cheap and somebody who wants a PS-3 gets one for cheap and is happy. You get your money back. problem solved!?

That's the obvious solution. But I know I'm gonna play around with it, love it, and want to keep it.

I think the real question is, why were you even price-enforcing on eBay in the first place?
If you're gonna do stuff like that, you gotta accept that you're gonna win the occasional auction and look at it as collateral damage or something.

Yeah, I totally accept that I'm gonna win from time to time. I'm not actually mad, I'm just surprised and hadn't budgeted in that money this week. It's no big deal. I'm just half bitching that I'm gonna be poor this week, and half bragging that I got a PS-3 for stupid cheap.
Price enforcing is probably the wrong word for it. I have a bunch of eBay saved searches for pedals that I'm interested in but that I'm not totally sold on going out and getting, and whenever one is about to end for what I consider a ridiculously low price, I throw a bid in.

Scored another depth charge yesterday. It was a bid I threw up for the super low price is was at, but I didn't expect to win it.

That sounds pretty win-win to me (well, except the being poor part).

Yeah, I think price enforcing isn't quite the term you were looking for. You made it sound like you were trying to maintain a minimum price on Boss PS-3s, as if you had something to gain from keeping their prices over and above a certain level. What you're actually doing is far less sinister.
