Too bad it's not the 1980's anymore though. Having a rack setup in 2016 is like still rocking a VHS collection, to be blunt.

I still have my beta max collection (and players....and another whole setup of hi-8). I don't watch them because I don't really need to see myself play tee ball on a regular basis.

I actually still have VHS tapes sitting around. My parents have all our old Beta Max. I'd totally use racks for fun. UC comment was so funny though.

I still have VHS tapes too, but goddamn UC wins the day with his ice cold burns.

Yeah, VHS is actually still a great format, and still the only way to find certain obscure horror and genre films from a particular era. I'm down with it. Also, tons of people recorded audio to Hi-Fi VHS, basically all of Skinny Puppy was recorded this way. Sounds great. Love VHS.

I wonder what happened to all my VHS tapes.
I had boxes and boxes of them.

The only VHS I still have laying around is Wayne's World, my Dad probably has a ton boxed up in a storage shed though.

Or it says "I use whatever is available to me to make the sounds I need to make!"

Limiting myself to a specific format and cutting myself off from sounds I can't get otherwise would get in the way of making the music I want and need to make.

I also have the old man's Beta tapes, player & camcorder. There's video of me riding my first 2wheeler, which my uncle overdubbed comical sound fx (mom driving me home from preschool, slowly pulls into garage to skid/crash noises, I emerge on training wheels bike with motorcycle revving)

There are also animated versions of fairy tales I cant find anywhere online. Hardlucky/The Furious Flycycle for one. I gotta cop an Elgato soon. Lots of 80s commercials will see the light of day again too.

Like I said, I was just being silly. Curious: I always thought you were a hobbyists. What music do you need to make?

Never been a hobbyist.

Dead serious musician and these days stuck at home one.

Do stuff with people both in the house and in the box.

Both my material and mastering stuff.

Past that, it's a calling, when you don't create if you're called, the songs in your head don't stop.
