Hey if you're going to flip a pedal, whatever. Do your thing. But flipping it before it's even been built, giving the buyer no real advantage of buying yours over waiting for the next batch/extras is pretty low. Especially when they are charging double AND they haven't even paid for it yet.

The prices will even out eventually.
Oh fuck you. Right in the anus.

:)

I'm the ONLY one I know of that sold a Wata for that price. So you gonna talk about it, at least use my name!!!!

I bought that shit specifically to make money. Same if I bought a Sonic Crayon. Shit needs to make me money.

The CT5 no. Why? Because he's still making them. DUH. :)

I didn't call you out because I don't fault you for it. :idk: I don't want to start any shit, ilu mang. It's just an example of shit being sold at a markup.

Dude I'm just busting your balls. Totally kidding.

I do find it hilarious that so many ILF members are so turned off by the concept of making money. LOL. I talked to a guy once that told me he made 100k buying and flipping gear in a year. I would do that in a heartbeat! It's a pain in the ass to worry about the possibility of things getting damaged, but nothing wrong with making some good cash.

As far as the Wata goes, I was as shock as anyone else out there that it actually sold for the price I listed. Had no idea it would. But I'm glad because it helped me pay some bills I needed to pay. I thought I'd make like a hundred dollars or something not not 500. Totally blew me away. The guy who bought it obviously understood what it was and was willing to pay that amount, so I don't feel bad about it.

Typically with me, and you'll see this if you watch my b/s/t threads, I am basically giving shit away. So I make a good profit every once in awhile, it justifies me paying it forward later down the road. Hope that makes sense.

At the end of the day it's your decision to do research or not. No one is going to not buy something just so you have a chance to buy it. That's just silly. Now if Scott wanted to, he could restrict certain folks from buying, but why would he? It makes no sense.

I do agree however that someone selling a pre-order is completely messed up and in fact against the rules of all auction sites as far as I know. Reverb seems a bit laxed in their rules. So I'm not sure about them. But Ebay will cut your balls off for that. LOL.

So, is it shitty? Yes. But it all comes down to patience and just ignoring the stuff you don't want to pay above market for.

For instance. I wanted a Goatkeeper 3 again. Well, it's discontinued and everyone wants to sell them in excess of 450-600 bucks. I've owned one 4 times, while it was discontinued and NEVER paid over 350. In fact the last one I had, which I'm getting back now, I paid like 300 for. I may have made 50 on the sale I don't know. I just decided, well, I'm not buying it unless it's the price I want and I didn't. I did the same will all the Toneczar gear I had and the Prescription Electronics Depth Charge that folks have been trying to be brutal on prices about.

That would average out to $274 of profit per day (365 days)

That would average $431 of profit per day on a 5 day work week excluding holidays, weekends and stuff.

So basically your watafuzz everyday, jwar.

You mean scalpers like Stubhub and places that sell me tickets to shows before they are officially on sale by TicketFly?

Is the person on Reverb selling their ct5 or pre-order? Have seen ct5 pre-orders on offer here at ILF.

Jwar, agree it's a bit weird ppl are worried about profit making on items after they become scare. It's like. all. of. human. history. Way easier ways to make money than flipping pedals. Anyone here in ILF making profit, whether in $ or a trade-up to a sexier pedal props to you :thumb:

yes soon soon. i am basically just waiting for the main pcb assemblies to come back from fab, then we should start shipping some within 2-3 days of their arrival. unfortunately holidays/ the holiday rush seem to be holding things up a bit with that, but they sent me some convincing photos this morning so im sure they will come my way soon.

That sounds awesome Scott. Hoping everything makes it back to you soon. Super excited to make some new noises.

Also, anyone else about to redo their entire board in preparation for the ct5? Hahaha

With the improved quantization-on-a-switch I'm back to wanting this as a replacement for the GB24.

Scott, have you tamed the shrillness of the Ct5? (I'm comparing to the GB24 where the low fidelity just ate up the higher range.)

did you think the first version of the CT5 was shrill sounding? i don't hear that at all (with my set up).

That's definitely understandable about the shipping. Can't wait!
