Gotcha..... I just read up on the EA audio forum's thread to catch the scoop and that's exactly what they said as well....
It's not my job to tell him how to run or focus his business, so I'm not going to comment further..... But I'm sure there are some Custom Order Customers who will not be too happy to hear that their orders were put on the back burner for months so he could focus on a production run, that will comment.

Yeah, he announced a production run early this year and an upcoming trip to Winter NAMM but I figured that would be an EGC production line, clueless about the Bean thing. He also mentioned something about the production stuff being produced off-site after design and noted the current shop would still be handling all custom orders. And that wait times should be shorter. Looks like we're all caught in the middle of this conversion perhaps...

For what it's worth, a local dude who recently received his custom order told me his wait was 6 months.
The main customisation was a scale length they hadn't done before. Jaguar shape, all polished. It seems they try to build similar orders together. So, he could have been moved up a bit when they did a bunch of jag shaped ones?
Anyway I'm currently basing my own expectations on that, since my own order doesn't have any particularly unique specs. (Body-shape they've done before, buzzo spec neck, powdercoat).

Love the look of those DS Acrylics. Definitely what I'd go with if I ever order an EGC.

I know the powdercoat can be done in-house and goes much faster than anodizing.

I was quoted 4 to 5 weeks which is great, hope I don't have to wait too long for it. Anyway it's gonna look exactly like this, except with block inlays
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
4 to 5 weeks for them to think about starting it..................if your lucky.
Who knows, maybe they have some acrylic bodies ready to roll and all they gotta machine is a neck. That's a bitching guitar tho, CONGRATS! I love those acrylics but prefer that Ampeg Dan Armstrong woodgrain guard.

well, i guess a lucite body is one way to deal with the neck-dive question.

My V still dives and it has a lucite body. Moving the strap button location would probably help but it's not really noticeable when I'm playing but when I let go it definitely drops a fair amount.

I'm a few months short of a year.

^ This.
I think what they meant to say was 45 weeks, best case scenario.

Mine had zero neckdive and was beautifully balanced.
