I've only had a couple of Make Noise pieces and they've never been that appealing to me. However, the Mimeophon seems like the least esoteric module they've made to me. There's a couple of deeper functions but for the most part the controls seem straightforward.

And the idea of skewed, halo'd, filtered, warbly, ping-pong delay is pretty enticing.

Here’s a couple examples of Mimeophon using most of the cv inputs at the same time

Yo wtf I take a break from the forum and come back to people saying they don’t like MN? Best company in euro imo. If you wonder why I say that, spend 30 minutes browsing their YouTube channel. They’ve done more for more for euro than any other company and they must be applauded for that. If you had a Maths or DPO and didn’t like it that’s a you problem!

Or you know, maybe opinions are like assholes and everyone’s got a smelly one ;)

sniff. my. OPINION.

oh. yeah. no. my dislike for them is no way at all rooted in the company at all. they seem nice as butts, and like you say, have done a TON for Euro Growth.

i just don't click with their loot. a smelly anus ME problem. not a Butters And Waffles Syrup Scented THEM problem.

I know I just wanted to stir the pot a bit! Also my euro setup is a (self-assembled) Shared System Plus. I got sick of researching and arranging and modular gridding, so that made the most sense to me to cut out the muss and fuss and just have a solid-assed patchable synth!

Very nice. Looks like a great module.

Ruiner wrote:Well there's the obvious stuff like it being stereo and having so much CV input modulation. Reverse and Freeze... I'm a sucker for reverse delay and not a lot of modules offer that.

Zone - I love this feature which can get very creative very quickly with cv control. From short repeats to phrases that come back a minute later. With well thought out CV control it can be very interesting.

Skew - having the ability to offset the left and right outputs is something I don't have on my other delay modules which I like a lot.

Gate Output - having a gate output derived from the rate control is useful.

Rate - cv control over the rate combined with the zone gets into interesting territory (I dig the micro rate and Doppler effects it can do)

Halo - the smear / reverb is beautiful on this thing and again... cv controllable.

Color - this has a much greater creative affect than I thought and again.... cv controllable

Using all of these cv inputs with the Catalyst crossfader has been AMAZING...... especially on drums!
Oh man I kinda wish I hadn't asked ;). Zone sounds amazing. Thanks for the writeup.

While the subject of Make Noise is up, I'm interested to hear experiences with Morphagene or any alternatives to it. I like its ability to save to a card, but I don't think that's totally necessary for me. I'm looking for a good live audio sampling/processing option.

Morphagene is fantastic but I’ve only had it for about a month. It takes whatever you feed into it and spits out magic!
