For my tastes the kick was rather high in the mix - I kept losing my focus on those lush and dreamy guitar toanz!

Wow. Seriously, thank you all for 1) listening, and 2) enjoying it! I find the Timeline's looper gives me lots of inspiration and layering all of these guitars is certainly a lot of fun for me.
That being said, the signal chain was The Elements (as a boost) into the Cosmichorus (as a light flanger/wah) into a Skreddy Echo; this all went into the Teenage Engineering OP-1. There's a surprising lack of noise and harshness when I record with that. The only hurdle was the fact that The Elements needed to be absolutely cranked (volume, not gain) for the guitar to be audible.
Here are some more tracks in different styles:
This one has more electronic elements, and the bass is quite low so headphones are recommend to actually hear it. Definitely one of my favorite grooves which isn't loop based. Setup for recording this one is the same as the previous song.

Speaking of really low basses, I have lots of trouble getting such a low bass to come through the mix a lot of the time with normal speakers.

The OP-1 is certainly my favorite purchase of the last year or so. It's very versatile and is a great device to get new song ideas down.

If you are easily bored, it picks up a little around the 6 minute mark.
I am diggin the guitar tone and this song. Would be interested in hearing more.
Here is a raw demo idea just for structure, recorded with one mic.

Indeed it did, sounds great. I've been listening to both of your albums for a few hours now, love it!
Do you have a lyrics page? I'm curious (and for some reason I suck at hearing lyrics properly)
..you need a last.fm page
Thanks! Glad you're liking it!
Haha nah we don't have a lyrics page...I'm not confident enough in them to put them up. :P
Butttt, I can PM you some if you like?
I'll see what we can do about a last.fm page!

Re: Let's hear your music!
My current band haven't got any thing up yet, but here's a couple of my old projects/bands:
Janosch, a lofi/indie pop project where I did lead guitar/bass/backing vocals: http://www.last.fm/music/Janosch (the site is a bid messy due to lastfm who couples us with the german childrens program Janosch Traumstunde... Any way the featured songs are all ours, and can be heard full lenght)
Menfolk, a math/hardcore/experimental kind of rock band where I played 1 of 2 basses. I'm playing on "Double Date" and "Are We Enemies ", they still exist and have recorded 2 full length since: http://menfolk.bandcamp.com
...and for such a long time, a lofi/experimental/psychedelic kind of one man folk project: http://www.last.fm/music/...and+for+such+a+long+time
and then there is my soundcloud which is kind of a ambient/noise/drone thing http://soundcloud.com/jacob-laeby

Here's a link to my solo project, Rumbird. For those wondering about the name- it's basically a play on "Jockey Full of Bourbon" by Tom Waits. There's a line in there about a bird and obviously about bourbon, so I changed it up a bit and et voilá: Rumbird.
The latest release (Sunset) is probably for Bill Frisell/Nels Cline/Bohren & Der Club of Gore fans. That was kind of the direction I was going in when making the track. There're also two more straight-up rock tracks planned for that release as well as a purely guitar-based jazz song, but I'll have to record them properly when time permits. The EP has some stuff on it as well, but not entirely as ambitious.

Re: Let's hear your music!
Did some real rough recordings of some guitar ideas I've been playing lately, this being one of them. I happened upon this reverb setting by accident but I really like it. Super happy the Cathedral has presets.

Guhh, that was beautiful and sad and lonely sounding. I love how the reverb resonated with that hollowbody of yours, that feedback sound with the clean guitar was almost like having a synth player or something.
Anyway, you should flesh it out into something ridiculously long so I can hear you play that progression forever. I can see it staying pretty forlorn and somber, but I can also see it exploding into anger and fuzz.

Thank you
I also really like the extra layering the feedback gave everything. I think fleshing this out is something I may have to do because I really like that progression (most of my shit sound pretty similar to how you described it hahah). I WANNA START A BAND NOW DAMN IT.D.o.S. wrote:I'm fucking stupid and no one should operate under any other premise.

Re: Let's hear your music!
we just did a I Have No Idea How To Mix Things slap-together of a couple songs. trying to get in some Real Studio time in the next month or so. we have a few heavier songs, but that's stuff we need somebody that knows what they're doing to record and mix.
this is what we're working with........
