well, funeral-era arcade fire. everything's went downhill since.

Yeah, Neon Bible was still good. The Suburbs is ok. Arcade Fire is still the band that turned me from one of those kids who listened to nothing but classic rock.
I really want to see The Flaming Lips live. I've already seen MGMT opening for Beck. I just need to see those fearless freaks in order to complete the druggie hipster triad. Wayne Coyne seems like he'd be the coolest uncle ever.

I don't hate the VT Bass as much as I like to make fun of it. I can see its usefulness, but it's not for me. The amps...I dunno. They're kinda pushing it, but whatever.
Its omnipresence in that effects forum is frustrating, though. You can't ask a question without getting "VT Bass" as a response.

Would love to see them too, though I'm doubting the amount of fun I would actually have since their fan bas has kinda reached critical mass, like at their shows there are just SO many people, it's like a festival, but then there's no as mch connection with the band (unless wayne happens to roll over top of you).
I've always fantasized that I would go to OKC and just like knock on his door or something and he'd let me in and we'd talk for a while.
I like playing online games but hate 99.9% of any given game community. I also hate being associated with games. The only reason I play is to play with a couple friends. It's like hanging out, but for losers. I've played over 1200 hours of Battlefield 1942, my favorite game of all time. Since 07-07-2005, according to Xfire, I've played 4,796 hours of PC games. Probably a hundred more if you count not being logged in. That's like half a year of gaming straight...holy shit.
I've been playing with the same small group of people I met online for five years now. We know each other fairly well and stuff. I can't just ditch them but I might have to ditch all the games, or get some self-control. I could have been practicing bass with that time, shit, doing so much more than even that. I could have been going to school full-time.
What the fuck am I doing?

Battlefield 1942 is sick! There's no shame in playing that. I've considered getting a PC and gaming again, but it's too damn expensive. I'd rather spend that money on pedals and I always sucked at any game I ever played. I enjoyed it though. I spent many an hour in high school playing Civilization III. I also spent no time in high school getting laid.
Seriously, I'd rather be a nerdy gamer than some douche who listens to DMB, plays frisbee golf and takes part in drum circles or any other form of acoustic music. I love my music loud and proud And nerds can be cool. You just have to find the one's who don't ONLY listen to Tool.
