Good bump.
I almost posted this yesterday (only mildly ring mod related, but pretty nice anyway):

I'd hit dat.

Man shit I would love to have that Mantic one. I think if they ever do another run I would buy one. Expression pedal option!!!
Really thinking about flipping a few pedals and gettzing a Randy’s Revenge. It sings it’s siren song to me every night, calling me to its cranky robot arms.....

You should definitely get a Randy's Revenge!
I'd get a Gonker too (especially if it had purple knobs like that)!

Me too!

Considering that purple is a composite of two different wavelength colors (red and blue), it only stands to reason that it would be advantageously used in a ring modulator.
Seeing as how a ring modulator is "a signal-processing function, an implementation of frequency mixing, performed by multiplying two signals, where one is typically a sine wave or another simple waveform, and the other is the signal to be modulated."
Hence, the purple colored wire creates a sympathetic environment for the frequencies to work within.
That's my story... and I'm stickin' to it.

I am curious if any other ring mods use a XR2206 signal generator for the carrier.. I know the Echo Dream 2 uses one for the modulation LFO .. I think I have a few laying around ..
Yeah the wave combination for purple does seem like it would lend to enhanced signal multiplication.

Purple occurs where infra-red and ultra-violet meet.

That would be impossible, since both are out of the visible spectrum.
More so the sum, though "sum" isn't the term used.
Purple is a color intermediate between blue and red.[1][2] It is similar to violet, but unlike violet, which is a spectral color with its own wavelength on the visible spectrum of light, purple is a composite color made by combining red and blue.
That would make it
additive.

Hahaha, but that's the point. It folds the two ends of the spectrum into the color wheel we know and love. That the two mentioned colors are on frequencies outside of our perception means NOTHING to a balanced modulator.

WTF possesses people to do things like that? They literally just sprayed over the switches and all
