I'm really glad I'm not a purist, it makes it so much easier to enjoy (sucking at) these games. IIRC Battle Garegga rev.2016 has extensive video/display/filtering options, and maybe your modern console will be easier to look at on a modern TV?
Speaking of shmups, with all the holiday sales going on I picked up Raiden V Director's Cut PS4. It's flawed, but a step up from III and IV, IMO.

I ain't a purist either. I just like to play...I do never continue though. 1cc as far as I can go.
I'm ok at them, but nowhere near those crazy super play guys. I can almost 1cc the mushihimesama games, suck at the DDP series, can do pretty good at r-type games, gradius I can loop like mad on 1cc. Treasure shooters...those I am terrible terrible at. Escatos was great...maybe I should just play that again?
I think it's just this tv. May have to find something smaller (like in the 30" range...this one is 55")
Ive got Both Raiden V and Battle garrega for PS4 and a PS4. Haven't opened any of them. Eh, maybe I'll try that. I think I have a ps acct from my pap?
I dunno why....I put them in the garage for after remodels and haven't felt like it. I think the xbox360 pissed me off from all the damn updates and passwords and crap. I just want to play! Xbox live account can suck it. Every damn time I turn it on, update. All that stuff is kind of a turn off for me video game wise. No dorky avatars either.

Had a lot of fun with this back in the day. Good game!

Personally, I think part of my PS4 sitting there is not being ready for garrega at the moment...my skills aint what they were (I've only played mame of garrega years ago).
Speaking of Ygawa...I'll just plug in the Xbox and give another go at pink sweets....I can 1cc that to near the last level...never triggered the infinite lives trick though and have forgotten all the rank control stuff (it's impossible to 1cc last I heard....only way to beat it is with the built in bug which I can't remember if is in the Xbox port or not?)

I'm sorry I endorsed Destiny 2 here. I trusted Bungie to make a good game. I still have hope, but hope isn't enough to save the game.
Annoying because they had the *magic* by the end of Destiny 1. Just needed an update, minor tweaks and a story. They blew it, and are seemingly getting worse with eververse store focused content.
At least PUBG now runs better on PC with 1.0 update and I'm giving The Division a try for the first time (it's pretty good if you like tactical cover based shooting and loot (I luv loot)).

I was just going to bitch about how shit PUBG is. Jesus christ.
Terrible animation lag followed by a bullet to the head with horrid hit detection.

PC version of PUBG looks great. The Xbox version sucks hard but strangely still fun. I tried the free version of Fortnite Battle Royal, and it is okay, but I don't like the building mechanics which seem very important for high level play. Really looking forward to the game that does this battle royal mode perfectly smooth with guns that work.
Started and finished Gone Home today. Good experience.
Working on my top 5 games of the year. Planning on playing one or two more in the coming week.

Have you checked out What Remains of Edith Finch? If not, please do! Don't look at videos or trailers. Jump in blind, feet first.

I'm very tempted to play Edith Finch. I've only heard good things.

Wait, there is an N++ game now? Like 2 years ago? I missed this. N+ was an excellent game.

Is there any merit to playing Mass Effect Andromeda now that the rest of this trilogy is cancelled? I loved the original trilogy and highly aware that a lot of patches addressed technical issues in Andromeda. Heard the premise od the story was a bit weak though.

I've played the OT literally 10 times through. Andromeda is the definition of an average 7/10 game, the gameplay, aesthetics and exploration is great - but for every genuinely awesome thing it does it has an absolutely stupid moment. But if you want to play a cheesy Space Opera, there's not that much to bitch about especially if you can buy it at $20-30.
Was kind of considering picking it up for PS4 considering its super cheap and I haven't replayed it with all the new tweaks and patches.
