Well, after months out of the game, I went crazy and splurged.
Squid Salmple
Assimil8or
SSF Autodyne
Voltage Block
Erica Sample Drum
All incoming. Trying out the Voltage Block for the second time. I'm hoping it plays nicely with the Metron.
Really going for it with samplers this time. I think I overlooked the power of them and I'm not really loving how I use Digitakt at the moment so hopefully this changes things around.
Only downside is I have to make a shit ton of room in the case and I have absolutely no idea where all that stuff is gonna go.

I really enjoy sampling but haven't enjoyed it so much in Eurorack format. I'm convinced at least ONE of these will satisfy my thirst for a great hardware sampler. If I strike out on all of these, I'll just get a fucking Octatrack lol.
My idea is: use my Morphagene for ambient loops in the background, Squid is for classic drum machines compressed and bit reduced (conveniently loaded on it), Sample Drum will give me some nice slicing action with FX on board, and the Assimil8or will be everything else (voices, capturing sounds, manipulating samples, etc.).

oh no no no no no i am NOT talking shit. lol. i'm like...... TOTALLY against Over Purchasing ALL THE LOOTS. realllllllly.
it is a STUNNING amount of options suh.
i'm sort of a git about sampling, the Assy Eight Thousands covers everrrrrrrrything i do with samplings.
lol. but i have the Deluge for MORE options later. that's my Octatrack?

Yikes, muffwiggler got hit with another server payment issue.
Folks, it is in fact a billing issue. synthCube will cover the hosting fees again and get the overdue bill paid this morning, like we did in March. Not whining, but its a substantial sum (please feel free to not make any comments about costs for hosting, switching providers, etc- it is what is it for the time being) At this moment 1) the moderators continue to do an amazing job managing the forum- send them a note of thanks, 2) it is everyone's intention to have MW around for the foreseeable future but the specifics of how to do so after Mike's passing are still unknown- patience please 3) at the moment the whereabouts of the Patreon contributions are unknown. They've not (yet) been applied towards MW hosting costs. But as we work to try and sort out the future for MW, that's part of the puzzle. We will work sincerely and transparently to either a) apply the patreon funds to MW hosintg or b) get those funds returned to the contributors.
Also got an email from Noise Engineering... wow. They are killing it rn. I want all 3.

NoiseEng - right? i am so enamored with their approach to things. defo grabbing the Octave Switch and Precision Adder, the Sequencer looks dope but i don't really have a place for it.

also, just put a passive 2hp Trim on the desktop in front of the Zoia, works a charm. kinnnnnda silly there's no gain stage select on the audio input module, but whatever. at least it's an easy fix.

Struggling to decide on a semi-modular as a starter package.
Behringer Neutron, Dreadbox Erebus, 0-Coast, Plankton Ants, Lifeforms SV-1 all sound good and interesting to me.
Behringer is the most affordable but I don't really care about the overdrive or delay in it from what I can hear.
0-Coast seems to be the coolest as a self-contained unit but has more overlap with things I might want to add as modules
Ants is there with the 0-Coast as self-contained but a little more traditional.
Erebus & Lifeforms SV-1 - seems like they can go a long way without using any modules in a traditional mono path

Mr JDOD, get a Mother32. You can add a dfam when you want drums and expand it when you want uBurst, Morphagene, Maths, and some utilities.
Oh and it sounds fuckin amazing and has midi and a sequencer.

lol. annnnd i would politely disagree. i.... did not like the Mother. the DFAM is BOSS, but the Mother was unwisely and uninspiring to me? and i hate the idea of a different voltage scale for tuning.
i loooooved the No Coast. shizz is amazing. and for such a little box has so many elements of different eurorack module approaches? and sounds amazebutts. kinda want one again. but i would think of that as a Semi-Modular Box way more than Mother?
those are the only two i've played with. Ants looks dope too. Erebus and Lifeforms always looked kinda blah to me?
just my thoughts.

I've got to agree with Antlerface. I've owned the Mother 32, DFAM, Quadrantid Swarm, and No Coast. I still think the Mother 32 is probably the best intro into euro. It has everything you need to start and sounds amazing. That being said, I sold all four and the only one I would ever consider buying again is the No Coast; I just didn't get along with the DFAM or Swarm and as much as I loved the Mother 32, it just didn't inspire me in the end. The No Coast on the other hand covers a lot of different approaches to modular

annnnd ordered the NoiseEng precision adder and octave switcher. because YES.
i like tge QuBit Chord 2 but.... always end up with CHEESE when i play with it. swapping these pitchy utilities and the Isntruo TS-L.

Has ModularGrid been funky for anyone else?
Haven't been able to use it for a few days now.
I ordered one knowing that even if I hate it I'll be able to flip it pretty easily or just return it. Kinda want to get the Erica Synths Black Stereo Delay too, but it depends on how much space I have left...
