I agree about it being better in cans. New Begium has been putting out some cool stuff lately with their whole Lips of Faith series.

Scenes from today's haul:

Except there's three more of the Fins and five more of the Brooklyns. I got the Brooklyns for a backyard BBQ, but the rest are MINE ALL MINE!!!!!

Man, I need more clients who own liquor stores.

Also, I am totally jealous of all the rest of you who can get New Belgium. I have not been able to find a store with a New England distributor for them yet! And now I'm hearing rumors that we won't be able to get Left Hand in RI anymore. What's this world coming to?!?!?!

I will absolutely send over some Left Hand brews if you toss me some good East Coast craft.

Also, how did you like the Lava.

Yeah, no New Belgium for us.

Have you tried the Maine Beer Company beers yet? The Zoe is real good, packaging is, uh, minimalist, but the beer is delicious.

No I have NOT! That sounds great. As an expat Mainer, it's always encouraging to hear when something good comes down from the Great White North. I will have to check 'em out, and see if my friends can get it in the store.

Haven't had it yet! That's on dock for this weekend. But I'll be sure to let you all know.

Sadly, I think that RI has a no-shipping-booze law. I'll have to look into that. If it doesn't, what are you looking for?

I don't know much about East Coast brews besides Dogfish Head and Rock Art, so whatever is awesome. Stouts, Porters and IPA's are my styles. I think there are ways around shipping beer, I know tons of people who do it on beeradvocate.com I'll chat up some of the beer gurus next time I work the bar.

Cool - yeah, I'll have to look into that as well. Unfortunately, my favorite NE brew has to be shipped cold - that might be a pain to work out. But I'd be cool with trying to work something out, especially if you had access to some New Belgium or or Russian River stuff.

We don't get Russian River out here unfortunately. Pliny is like gold out here. I could get some New Belgium bombers and find some way to get it out. I'll investigate. You gotta try Coco Moley.

I wish the Australian beer scene didn't suck as much. Our craft beer selections isn't exactly amazing with the most extreme style they choose is a Pale Ale which almost always sucks. My favourite, Little Creatures is getting kind of boring after the 50 billionith case. :(

I think due to the American economy we're getting more US beers coming in but the only good things are your generic Sierra Nevada range (PA,IPA,Hef), I'm totally hanging out for some more to come out.

Alas, neither do we get Russian River - I've just heard tales of greatness.

I read some reviews of the Coco Mole and am seriously intrigued! Had the Lava tonight, and it was really tasty. The smoke was prominent but not overwhelming. I've had a few smoked porters before, and it seems very easy for them to go over the edge into crazytown. This one walked the line, but didn't get excessive. Pretty smooth overall. It LOOKED gorgeous too, which is a nice plus.

There's, what I like to describe as, the crust punks of beer Mikkellers. They brew at other breweries but seem to be everywhere. You should see if you can get anything by them. Completely overpriced but very good. And if it is your only other option then it is well worth the extra $$$. Also I heard Stone is going to begin brewing in Europe which may mean you will be able to get them soon.

Yeah that Lava was nice. Better at room temp than cold. The Great Divide Smoked Porter is my favorite. So well balanced. The Left Hand Voodoo Donut, on the other hand, not so much. Too smokey, too maple. They really got that one wrong. Hype beer that overloaded all the flavors. BUT if you can't get one it is worth trying

But then I hardly ever drink...
