I sometimes find myself wanting a pink RG-550. It's all very conceptual, I don't know exactly what I would play on it, but I imagine it would involve me growing wings and an eclipse and possibly the awakening of some ancient power.
I also regularly want an SP-303. It just seems neat, and possibly a handy tool for some of the more nineties videogame soundtrack vibes I enjoy. Also been told to check out the Electribe, which is currently open as a Google search in my browser.
No idea where my knife is. Still have my swiss army knife in the drawer of my desk if that counts.

The RG-550’s rip. Ibanez customer support is kind of lame (friend’s experience, not mine) but they really have their supply chain down. My Uncle learned guitar at 57, he’s 60 now and got his first electric this past weekend. It’s an Ibanez GIO. My best friend and I have loved those for years cause you can get them for nothing and either abuse them as stock, or upgrade the electronics. The necks are so fast.
Dr. Sherm is the SP PHD. The 303 (through my gearnomics eyes) has such an inflated price. I don’t understand why people don’t just get a 606? Sherm sold one for $250 a while back and I missed it.
Yes, those knives count.
Reading you talk about gear wants is odd though, Eivind

I used to have an Ibanez and the crazy fast neck was kinda cool although I no longer like the looks. Good players in my experience though. Get one

Haha, maybe one day.
And yeah, the SP-303 is overpriced af, so it would be if I ever find a good deal. Don't think I want anything more complex than it, but will check out this 606 of which you speak. Maybe the 404? Electribe? We shall see. Just want some box I can fuck around with and mangle samples in a rhythmical fashion. Used to think I wanted a synth, but my journey taught me that I can't play keys for shit.

Look... re “key playing abilities”.... Rachmaninoff and Gould never had synths.... that’s all I’m saying.

I think I'm going to have to do a historical segment in each and every video I make because my "engineering" skills are so out of whack. hahaha
Plus I look SUUUUPER DRUNK in the thumbnail, love it.
So, I wound up with a stinking Roland User Group magazine from 2003 in a pile of shit I got from my uncle (the best uncle ever), and now I want a fucking MV-8000, and the 8000 part makes me also think about the Korg DW-8000 I had and stupidly sold over 20 years ago. Sentimental old age stuff has been kicking my ass lately.

I feel like this is a good place to launch my 1 year campaign to sell off every ounce of excess to begin a System 100m fund. I'll be cutting it close....have to try selling 1/4 of my LP's and hope that someone will pay a decent price for my Jagumarr despite the shitty paint Fender used that has flaked off in a horrid way.

Uncle Pepe, have you tried one these? I feel like you 1. Did and 2. Maybe repaired one?
You might remember this picture from last year's March:
It's an awesome unit with lots of cool sounds. I bought it for a reasonable price with the voltage control pedal MS-04 that offers LFO modulation or wah-like pedal treadle operation for the VCF or the VCO.
It's somehow a scaled-down MS-20 and it shares some things with the old KORG Sigma regarding the various presets. I used it live on stage a few times and the audience was fascinated, especially when I used my guitar to trigger this machine. The X-911 works great with guitar (sadly not with the lower tones of a bass, though) - much better than the MS-20 (mini) does with the "External Signal Processor". The tracking is very good, but you have to be skilled to play precise monophonic melodies on your guitar. If you cannot mute your strings, then you'll have trouble, but we know that from octavers and various octave fuzzes.
Here are a few more pictures of my exemplar. And no, I didn't have to repair anything, because it was in pristine condition:

Its taken 3 hours to decide I was over zealous and will be bursting an sh-101 instead

Sorry I just always find that funny
I wish there was some sort of magical portable yet loud and good sounding cab... Thought sparked by my band finally rehearsing again... Also, I would love to have a room that is all cabs. The room is a cab.

So tiny! 60W will not cut it though
I've thought their bass cabs look cool for years but they cost more than any of my amps so it feels like a stretch. Definitely would be nice to have a really portable cab though...
