Both MacCready and Childs were Things in the end.
If either of them were human, and they knew they would freeze to death, they would not take the chance that the other was possibly the Thing, so on seeing each other both would have tried to kill each other. But since they did not, both were Things.

I just never understood how setting something like that on fire for a few seconds would kill it, if it could survive in complete frozen stasis for thousands of years.
That fucking thing was all over the base within the first hour, like jizz on a porn set.
