I've never liked those Dano headstocks, and I think the V makes it look even worse?
I just ordered another V hehe.
See if you can find it here:

I'm thinking about bigsby-ing my v. Any thoughts? I've never used a bigsby... but I want a trem, dammit. Preferably with an elongated arm that I can strum with—you know, the whole Kevin Shields technique.

I own a V.
This is the V I own (2016 Gibson Flying V Faded Ltd - Vintage Amber):
...but this is the V that I wish I owned (EGC Brent Hinds Custom Lucite):

now, there's a good idea. by which i mean the shorty Vibrola. looks good, and fits the body without a strut.
Casady did indeed play a Flying V bass in the late days of the original run of Hot Tuna, i.e. 1977-78. i know i saw him with it, but can't recall where...it may have been the Santana/Hot Tuna double bill at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago when Santana was touring behind Lotus. now, that was a thing. he and the bass appear on the cover of their swan song, Double Dose.
you mount a Bigsby in a V using an aluminum strut which attaches via screws to the inner surface of the legs and runs between them left to right, to which the Bigsby--i believe it's a B6--connects using the hinged bracket at the south end of the tailpiece. this is commonly known as the Lonnie Mack setup after the 60s guitarist who invented the concept. you should be able to Google it up. Vibramate sells an adapter kit for Vees with stop tailpieces.

Proud of u. Yes, I don't dislike most guitars but that Dano V upset me.

Has Dime finish but no floyd for Dime Squeals... not sure if that's a good or bad thing

this is a fine look on a V emphasizing the machine - guessing there used to be an old skool bent metal vibrato on there

I hate Floyds with a passion, or indeed anything other than a fixed bridge. I just can't be assed with things going stupid every time you change a string or the tuning or whatever.
But man... those Dime squeals and stuff... I would dearly love to do them.
