Has anyone successfully hooked up drum triggers to a Volca sample?
I'd like to have cone contact mics set up to play samples when I hit my drums!

greyscales wrote:Oh, easily . Sample has reverb, swing, mute, eq, and access to a whole lot of good drum sounds. You could even sample the Beats if you wanted those core sounds and then tweak them.
Was recording a track with my bandmate last night and he wasn't happy with the old drums on a new song, and it only took a couple minutes to dial in a completely different sounding kit. That was never really an option with the Beats. It's really only good for the one or two sounds it has. Which are fine sounds, it just makes the Sample a whole lot more valuable to me.
After you get tired of the unaffected sounds Volca beats is great "source sound" for big FX chains

I love the VOLCAS. They're just fun little synths that are so conducive with pedal junkies.

I have all the foam from the packages you sent me still. I can honestly say JohnnyAngle's foam is like the VOLCAS of the foam world. Extremely practical and unintrusive. I'm hoarding it in case I have to ship something. Sometimes I use it as a pedal board
EDIT: Also a surprising variety of applications.

I just modded my Volca Kick and added midi out using a USBTribe kit. Very recomanded indeed!

Instead of the cable floating out the of Volca I used a more elegant 3.5mm plug.

WOW, that is appealing.
That would be really handy to make a volca into an "anything else" sequencer.

Would need to sum to MIDI first. This isn't impossible! Far from an expert though

Yes, actually I use the midi out to send midi clock to a Pigtronix Infinity so that the loops runs all synched together with the volca!

I would figure handle all your sensors through a common device like a RPi that does the conversion and note/channel assignment. If doing the sensor interface circuit, it's not a lot more effort to build MIDI 5 pin outs. And splitters are easy to DIY for distribution if you want to use sounds from multiple Volcas.
First project I spot on google uses accelerometers rather than the old stand-by piezoelectrics, though others go piezo. If compatible, used Wiimotes are cheap places to scavenge accelerometers.

Oh yeah. I had a dumb moment and this is fairly easy.
