Chankgeez wrote:These aren't $22 (one recently sold on Reverb for like $45 or something though), but I once asked Cyrus fr. Ovnilab what he recommended for the extreme pump/breathe compression (because that's the only type of compression I really like) and this's what he said:

They're generally priced at at least around $100 usually. :idk: So, yeah, not $22. :whateva:
I'm going to have to keep my eye out for one of these.

I haven't tried one. So, I can't confirm how well it'll work for that purpose.

He also suggested the Fromel Velvet Vice. I did pick one of those up and it's nice. It doesn't get quite as extreme as I'd like though.

EHX White Finger was another one he recommended. Haven't tried that one either. :idk:

Pedals I got for around $22 ($20 plus tax in both instances) from GC, used:

Ibanez DE-7
DOD FX86b Death Metal original version, mint, with battery cover, box and everything

Instant killer pedalboard right there. Unfortunately, I didn't keep either. :grumpy:

DUDE! YOU FUCKED UP...BIG TIME!

Nah JK, you can probably find that deal again in a few months. I'm biased cause DEATH METAL is my favorite distortion pedal. That said, again, that is an awesome deal.

Ever read youtube comments on classic synth videos? A guy will say he sold his Roland SH-101 for $200 or something and people will attack him like he is literally Pol Pot or something. Didn't mean to do that here

It was the big box version. Not sure if older or newer matters. :idk:

I'd take off the foam though and maybe glue something less flakey down. I'd also rip out the diodes to make it a gnarly fuzzer.

I like Yamaha pedals. That Yamaha looks totally whipped. :whoa:

Somebody should offer The Mothership $22 for this:

Want one of these eventually. One of the awesome things about eurorack drums is finding the right distortions to use on each drum sound, and I have always loved having pedals with cab sim for home recording. Currently loving the one in the Digitech Grunge. As with all of those Digitech dirt pedals that have a separate "mixer" output, that is a fixed cab sim that stays active whether the pedal's dirt is on or off.

My all time greatest pedal scores: one time I stopped at a garage sale in an affluent san diego beach neighborhood. The guy selling stuff had an old boss ce-2 and a fulltone supa trem on a table full of other knick knacks. I asked how much he wanted for them and he goes "eh 20 bucks a piece". I could have been a good dude and told him they were worth more but I figured get if just wants to clear this junk out of his million dollar home, who am I to stand in the way of the free market? So I bought them and drove away laughing like Snidely Whiplash.

Jack sold me his Ibanez AF2 Flanger for 22 bucks plus 7 for shipping last night. He might have been drunk. I'm not sure. I mean, it was a work/school night...hahaha
