Holy shit that thing smokes. I really like it. I've got permanent settings on it that I like, and a SMMH on the way from another forum. Dual delays, hell yeah.
Isn't the Dispatch Master pretty much like a nice looking more expensive true bypass'd RV-3 though? :idk:
In a lot of ways the RV-3 is actually a bit more versatile, no? (room/hall/plate, stereo out). The sssslightly lofi-ish sounding reverb (to today's standards) and crystal clear repeats on the delay may be a required taste I suppose, but they're indestructible and can be picked up for the price of a good bottle of liquor :)
I have both (RV-3 and Dispatch Master) and while they overlap quite a bit each does things the other doesn't. The reverb on the Dispatch sounds different when the delay time is set to 0 and the feedback is increased, for example. And the RV-3 can do glitchy delays (if you tweak the time knob) and has more reverb types... The RV-3 does cut the sound a little bit when turned on, which can be an issue or not depending on how you use it.

I see. Thanks.

And yeah, that last thing is something I noticed too. Doesn't bother me that much, but I can imagine some people would look to alternatives like the DM because of that. And maybe because of the lack of true bypass switching too, though I'm personally okay with the Boss buffers.

I Got rid of my RV-3 because of how quiet it was. I love the pedal for its reverb, the delay is decent I guess, but don't expect to get a big wash from it.

Washy enough for me :idk: So what's your weapon of choice than? Only other real reverb peds I owned: Biyang tri-reverb (super washy, versatile, cheap...But extremely noisy), digiverb (annoying mix control instead of regular level), RV-7 (Awesome, only sold it to fund an Avalanche Run, but can't find a used one).

Yeah I guess so. Didn't even know. I dit ISIS I guess, but apparantly not enough to check their pedalboards untill now :)
Verry un-ilf boards, pretty straight forward and off-the-shelf. Also: Not a single dirt pedal :o
band of horses used to use danelectro exclusively because of how cheap and good they were
not anymore, they have some of the best gear all around now.
same with these dudes. aaron has some high quality gear now.
but ISIS was one of my all time favorite bands. anything is possible if you work hard enough.
also they had some amazing amps to get all that crunch from and polish up the pedals.
but enjoy the sterile lining the brutal. love ISIS.

To each their own. I should mention that I am still on the hunt for a reverb that I am completely content with, but I'm currently using a Neunaber Slate and switch between the Wet and Plate verbs, then use the Seraphim mode to do background noise builds. Works well, and I do like it, but hasn't stopped me from looking into other verbs constantly.

I've had 3 different RV-3's I think, and I keep coming back because I love the reverb sound but then sell it because it's too soft. I don't need full on wet, but I also want something that can be at least equal volume with whatever I'm playing.

Actually, I've been looking at selling the Slate to fund an Avalanche Run and picking up an RV-5 for cheap.

Avalanche Run...I lost my shit when I heard one of my favorite pedal companies was doing a do-it-all reverb/delay that's stil compact and has top jacks. It'd be perfect for my modest reverb needs...

But I can't really justify spending that much, I'd have to at least find a decent used deal. And it's still too new and too in demand now :idk:
And no matter what, I don't wanna sacrifise all my other delays for it, I *need* two seperate delays on lah board, no matter how awesome one of 'em is

Anyway, the RV-3 can do full wet, which I don't find very usefull for anything but ambienty noise inbetween songs, or in an intro/outro bit or whatever.
Mode 11 is where it's at for me. Washy and big but still not that overbearing that you drone out everything and can't make sense of what you're playing.
