And in their defense, when I saw them they played right after The Body, who can make anyone sound quiet. Sumac (who came after BotSC) also underwhelmed in volume as well.

also... the Seminar III: Zozobra album. I was very lucky to find one on vinyl for a really good price and it's matching with my copy of Seminar II. It's an experience for sure

not bragging or anything

and yeah, to me, they are one of the bands that don't sound fake at all. Not even convoluted, despite all the tongue in cheek shit and nonsensical noise tracks and stuff. It all seems very natural and organic and heart-felt and I appreciate that immensely
YAAASSSSS
I love when they go from noise to wall of sound to drones to fast riffs without an apparent reason.

Speaking of other bands Two of my all time sort of post-metal favorites are this two Italian bands:

:idk: I've seen Boris in that room and they were pretty comparable in volume, although their sound doesn't swallow you up like boris's does
Takeshi is so loud, man. I know what you mean about being swallowed up. Just so. much. bass.

The bass is what makes it :!!!:
But.. as I have lived up here long enough to see a few Tadiations of Taditude the Drummer in Hog Molly
NSFW: show

was way more obnoxiously loud than Takeshi.. actually in compairison to other Tad based things I'd so BOTSC is a little toned down, but that is what I like about it :thumb:

As always, I'm blimmin late to a thread. But I love Thrice, Cult of Luna (gonna see them do SATH in full in a few weeks!!!!) and really like The Ocean too, although I think they've gone a bit too pretentious without really pulling it off, at times. How bout Cave In, surely you could put some of their stuff in the post-metal category? Their "Planets Of Old" EP, which is probably my fave by them is brilliant. surely if The Oceans riffier bits are post-metal, this should be too, or?

Also (for the gazillionth time) I'm gonna put a cheeky self-promoting bit in here, pushing my own band. We've been compared to CoL, Isis and Neurosis-esque stuff a lot. Although I think that's true (CoL are a big inspiration), I still feel we sound a little different from those guys. (If you do give it a listen, do it from start to finish as a big part of the EP is built on the order of the tracks. If you only have time for one "Pillars" is the riffbased banger and "Shadows" is the finale.)

So I just bought 2 Old Man Gloom albums, they are my first from them. I bought Ape of God I and II. I got to say, I'm pretty fucking disappointed that Ape of God II has only 4 fucking songs on it. WTF. I paid 10 bucks for four songs. I was expecting a full album. That's 2.50 a song bros. Some bullshit right there. I mean, I guess it's almost 50 minutes of music...but you know. Kind of weak.

I listened to No earlier today as well and it's legit as fuck. Loving this band.

Why? Does the track lenght have to do with the quality of the output? Will you only pay $1.00 for dopesmoker? Since it's only one track despite being over an hour long?

I don't like Dopesmoker, so less than one dollar actually.

And I like to get the most for my money. That's why. Thought that would be obvious. :thumb:
