Re: Malekko - Charlie Foxtrot
Just got mine in the mail today (2 days early!). for 140$ im really pleased with this guy. definitely not a competitor for the ct5 or the particle, its more in the raptio and judder class. I wouldnt even call it granular delay, more like envelope triggered sampler. the stutter mode is the only worthwhile mode in my opinion though, the pitch modes have too much randomization of pitch and pitch shifting speed that makes them really difficult to use in most contexts.
I find using the guitar's envelope as the trigger is much more convenient than using a momentary stomp like in the raptio and judder, some may disagree but the foxtrot also allows you to use the stomp switch as the trigger so its got you covered. my biggest gripe with this is that the duration of the sampled audio only goes to 10 seconds, really would be nice if it could have infinite repeats, but ten seconds works for me in most situations.

Prevents that dude? Nothing prevents that dude until we decide it does! Was it prevented when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Sounds a bit like the Judder had a baby with a Raptio, actually.
Going to have to pick one of these up. First time a Kayzer demo has given me GAS.

So like...how "random" is it? Is it like Sample and Hold where it SOUNDS random but is playable still?

It's not true random, it is biased towards not pitch shifting at all, as to avoid in not sounding like like what you're playing at all.

But even in like the UP and DOWN modes...is it just whenever it feels like shifting?Inconuucl wrote:It's not true random, it is biased towards not pitch shifting at all, as to avoid in not sounding like like what you're playing at all.
