She's graduated to changing guitars more often during her set than Prince?

The show was actually very Prince like (she was playing with Erykah Badu and the people behind us who were there to see Badu kept asking if this was a joke and saying "This is like a Prince show").

There was actually less guitar changing than last time. It was alright for a pop show and my wife liked it (but liked the last show more) so that is good by me  .

Well, as long as your wife likes it, that's what counts.

Prince puts on a good show, I could just do without all the guitar and wardrobe changes. :)*

No wardrobe changes though (I don't think it would have functionally would have worked). She did "die" and the silver dancers (that were pantomiming smoking joints and slow motion running throughout the show) saved her, put her on a hospital bed (made from a lawn chain, sheet, and road case), and gave her a guitar. Then she played the last song laying down and spinning in the bed. Yea...

Oh, she's going the James Brown route too?

She definitely needs a prog cape.

All that stuff is David Byrne's fault.

It's all in good fun, man. For a pop act, it's quite a nice show. I was just surprised the guitar looked as good as it did in person is all. The angles looked way better in bright lights and all that stuff.

I still love her. My wife wants to be her Chloe in the Afternoon.

She played onstage with Taylor Swift and Beck the other night, so I'm sure her next album is gonna be a multi platinum hit.

As long as she doesn't stop playing guitar.

You know what I realized while running errands this morning? If I'm seriously considering buying this guitar (which I was) I can buy a science. Way rather have current guitar through a science amp than St Vinnie through my Peavey.

I like St Vincent's theatrics, and the time I saw David Byrne the dancers they had were incredible and made it a much better show, because again the music was brilliant and it was only adding on top of that, not taking away. I'd rather see someone doing something different than another rock band who turn up wearing tshirts and barely acknowledge the audience. :idk:

I agree the dancers can add a lot. Empire of the Sun do a great live show based on dancers and theatrics. Just this show (which is pretty typical for the Hollywood Bowl) was not very well produced; didn't fit in, didn't do anything and it was just sparce and off. Maybe David Byrne gets first pick of the dancers? Or maybe that was the joke...she did mention Andy Kaufman during the show (and maybe this is the brilliance of it all...if she likes 'em, why not, I guess?)
