One last question, in normal mode, with the bloom maxed (passed 4 to 5 Oclock) I get a decent boost in volume, drop in fuzz and more akin to a boost slight hint at octave than maxed out fuzz, is that also normal?

Crank 'em in Choke mode, then imagine each knob is a trim, and just try backing off one knob at a time.
Bloom maxed is going to give a boost, and a very hard, brash tone (yeah, with a hint of an octave scramble).

I just want to say I still love the hell out of this thing, and the choke tones are particularly fun to throw on a lead. I always keep the algal bloom nearby, by far my most used fuzz.

I finally did the demo for this thing. The first time I had it in stock, it sold out before I managed to do so haha
