This is one of the reasons I get so suspicious about people abusing ILF for marketing purposes, by the way: we're basically a Google SEO wet dream, and advertisers love this kind of "organic traffic."Brandsmannen wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HOLY SHITUglyCasanova wrote:Try typing Aescher Ebow into google...neonblack wrote:I also can't help but laugh when I think of someone being interested in this resonator in the future, Googling it, and finding this train wreck of a thread.
Fuck that. I want all that glorious organic traffic going to builders who are legit.

Re: Aescher Europa Resonators
I doubt anyone outside of the USA knows that TV show "Fast and Loud", but it actually started in a thread like this. They sent out a guy to car forums promoting their work as a fan but the company (Gas Monkey) kind-of existed and it was all a marketing ploy to drive traffic through promoting a specific image. The car forum guys were way crazier, actually started researching them, sent cease and desist letters, and boycotting companies that had affiliated with the marketing ploy (there was a contest involved). Gas Monkey went into hiding for a bit and actually sold all the "research" they did to Discovery Channel resulting in a "reality" TV show. Some of the work they've done is quality, but it was a weird path to take by making a name known via forums and niche groups (with good and bad press, making their sales known, etc). In the end, through trace routing and other stuff, they found out that the poster worked with a marketing agency but they could never exactly tie money to Gas Monkey. It's really neat stuff...
In terms of the written word, there are connotative and denotative meanings to all strings, statements, and comments that people are able to recognize easily and characterize accordingly (based upon experience and perception). All that is being suggested is that to be a member of a community sometimes requires more than one-dimentional look/pitch toward a view/item without listening/respecting others views while also being open and not becoming defensive.
I am just going to say that blocking these members severly cripples a portion of the fun on ILF. All they want is honesty and to not skirt the rules while people in the shark tank/ILF-support follow them. People like Aen, cloudscapes, and greyscale all post in their forums and outside with no problems and add an awesome aspect to ILF. chasebliss and others are members and come here to chat too (and talk about their products) with no problems. This is a pretty chill place in terms of forums.
tl;dr: don't type in a sales pitch if you don't want to be characterized as a salesman

I do think the person reading this thread is more likely to watch trollhunter than buying an Aescher product though...D.o.S. wrote:This is one of the reasons I get so suspicious about people abusing ILF for marketing purposes, by the way: we're basically a Google SEO wet dream, and advertisers love this kind of "organic traffic."Brandsmannen wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HOLY SHITUglyCasanova wrote:Try typing Aescher Ebow into google...neonblack wrote:I also can't help but laugh when I think of someone being interested in this resonator in the future, Googling it, and finding this train wreck of a thread.
