I'm really excited about this. All I want in a looper is to record something and be able to overdub it. I don't need to save presets, change the tempo, or have those god awful backing tracks. I will definitely be getting one if the price is right. I play lead guitar and sing in a band, so if I want to layer my guitar, this is perfect. I don't have time to fuck around with all the features and shit. If I can record a simple riff and go hell bent crazy making noise I'm happy. I don't think they are trying to revolutionize the world of looping, just create a simple looper, for simple people. like me.

IMO it's a great piece of ad (fo the music gear industry at least) because for once it's based on a true insight : something that a certain category of people (ie : the target) will react to because they can relate to it. It's not meant to please everyone, because good advertising definitely isn't. It's like you're Volkswagen and you have a tiny 5000$ Indian made car to sell and you make an ad making fun of people spending ten times more to get big SUVs just to prove themselves something, and saying that smart people don't put all their money in their car. People who like big cars will get offended but they would never have bought your car in the first place. But your target will consider your product because they can relate to what you say. Here it's exactly the same : if you never looked at loopers because they seemed to complicated this ad will make you consider a looper that is unlike the others.
And the simple fact that a guitar pedal ad is discussed here proves they did a great job (I'm not even comparing it to this silly Bogner shit).

This is a good point, if you find an ad offensive that means you had a reaction to it. If you have a reaction to something you're more likely to remember it, which is more or less the goal of advertising.

I suppose you are right, but I wasn't trying to say the ad didn't do its job. It's that I don't like what the ad implies. But let us keep talking about how rad the pedal is, because nobody else cares about dis stuff.

This thread being out of control is proof that people want some different loopers on the market :thumb:

No, it just shows that ILF likes to ALWAYS GET OUT OF CONTROL!!! :animal:

I started a looping thread awhile back that we can talk about all this in...

I had a Flashback for a while, I thought it would be cool to have a simple loop function as well as a delay. I found the looper to absolutely useless. I think it was useable for making 1 loop to play over, but it had serious issues managing volume to play over the loops and to layer loops. I looked into it, and it seems it was inherrent to the way they programmed the loop feature.

Perhaps if they have fixed this issue it would be a useful pedal, but I suspect this is not the looper I am looking for.

Also, seeing how this thread has more posts about which full featured looper is best than it has from people excited for a small, simple looping pedal, I predict this pedal will not be a huge hit.

I might try one for $100, but I doubt it will be that cheap and I definitely won't be paying any more than that.

I have a volume pedal after my gain-y pedals and before my modulation, so the trick was to record the first loop / subsequent overdubs at a lower level (vol pedal down) and then adjust the layer volume on the Flashback (I usually have this set beforehand, but it's annoying to go between this and the delays because I want the level on the delay much quieter.)

Then, playing over the top of the loops, I just rock the vol pedal forward and I'm louder than the loop. Easy peasy.

Still reading through this (long) thread. Learning a lot. I will have some thoughts to share when I get to the end, I think. Or at least references to my friend Steve Lawson, who do the live looping thing on solo bass so well. (I took a master class from him on live looping years ago)

i dunno. if it's about a hundy, it's exactly what i've looked for forevah. a simple tiny little looper.

i'd grab one just to have it around if it was cheap enough.

so basically its like 1/8th the functionality of one of these:

which by now you could get for the same amount or less than this pedal probably will be. the only thing it might have over a DL-8 is a loop length longer than 10 seconds

Dl-8 is step and hold to record and doesn't start recording into you okay a note. This may it totally useless for me. Couldn't do anything with my volume pedal and couldn't record a bit of silence before starting to play. If the ditto is anything like the dl-8 I'm gonna be pissed

yah. thing is, if i bought another Flashback or DL8 i'd only be using it for looping. so if it has more loop time i wouldn't mind spending about the same amount.

also, the DL8 sucks BUTTHOLES as a looper. i hate the Hold Down To Start Looping, Release To Stop And Start The Loop. super counter intuitive. for me at least.

So is it safe to assume a lot of folks here play coffee houses, dinner gigs, etc? Seems like a number of you have high demands for looping options, which I can only assume means solo comping and instrumental indie covers of Bee Gees, etc. or Wootenesque antics.
