Mine's not labeled (special spray paint finish) but I think I keep my crackle switch on heavy, and then I adjust the trigger level knob until it only really crackles when I really dig in.

that makes total sense. heavy is pretty noisy/buzzy and light is more gating/crackling.

I am currently wrestling with this dilemma, I've never owned either.

I started out thinking I wanted a Mini, now have swung heavily towards getting a Fuck.

Mini is great but fuck does stuff that no other overdrive does.

And yet I'm thinking about swapping my fuck (that I swapped a mini for) back for a mini... I just remember the mini sounding so amazing.

I think in the end it comes down to do you want the eq or the crackle.

just set the bias to minimum and volume and gain to max on the mini. high gain gated crackling goodness. ride the bass and treble high too for note definition.

It's been said already, but I agree that this isn't an either/or thing. They're both extremely unique pedals, and at this point both of them are must-haves for me. There is enough room outside of the overlap to give them a lot of different applications. Along with the Driving Notion, these two pedals cover pretty much everything I need for dirt.

man if i had an extra $200 to spend i'd have a fuck for sure, but how is it that i could afford to have two minis???

I use my Fuck now mostly with the gain just before noon, light crackle a hair above nine o' clock, almost wide open treble cut, pushed by a Futureman to gain it up. Sometimes I switch it around, with the Fuck doing most of the dirt. Dig that bastard either way, BUT I am also planning to get a Mini for just my second/left amp. It just seeeeeeems logical. Btw, can the Mini take 12 volts?
