of course preference doesn't equal objectification. i'm talking about some extreme reactions, and about what IMO is the effect on the culture and on men of consuming images in mass quantities which are at variance with reality and with what i consider reasonable expectations.

Around the armpits and crotch my girlfriend has about as much hair as I do (my legs are a different story. I'd shave that fucking forest off any time if it didn't take hours and ruin a couple razor blades.)

Shaving. It can be very attractive. Perhaps because models can have help from photoshop but meeting in person doesnt' come with shaved-filters.
Even many of my XY-chromosome friends keep themselves shaved tidy because some ladies like that in a man
so it's not only a female armpit hair that makes the opposite sex bodily hair an aesthetic issue. Goes for all the hair that isn't tidy and stylish like hair and beard, so yeah, shaving/grooming pubic hair, too. And getting rid of the butt fuzz. And not considering it any less manly. And girls can be persistent on asking for this, too, I know. Though there is - fo course - also the opposite preference for hairy men. As well as for naturally hairy women.
Though I find shaved women attractive, I've got nothing against girly armpit hair myself, oh no. As long as they're not long enough to have plaits.
