Wow what a difference a day makes. Just checked the ft20s and they are almost close back up where they popped.
It looks like they will just need some light re-gluing and finish touch up and they might actually be good as new!
Fingers crossed!

Oh man. Was the 27 a casualty? How about the 75s?
Heartbreaking!

The 75s are all fine. So that is a relief! The 27 was indeed affected. There is a chance that some of the wood will move back to where it should be. Even if not there is a chance I will be able to get it put back together to a stable condition and offer it at a steep discount.
I will let you know what happens with it! There should be atleast one 75 available for you if you ended up wanting to go that direction! (they should be ready in about a week!) =-)
It is a major bummer but had I not caught my error it would have been a nightmare!!!

Well it's a Christmas miracle! I checked the guitars a little while ago and it looks like both mahogany acoustics will just need a little glue in a couple spots, and some easy finish touch up and they will be good as new!
The ft27 is actually moving back together so we'll see if it keeps going in the right direction!
While it will take a teensy bit more work from me, I'm excited and thankful that at worst I might only be out one guitar. But there is a small chance that it too might just go back together without problem.
Most likely it will go back together and I'll still offer it at a discount.
Makes me breathe a HUGE sigh of relief!!!

Oh I sure did! just goes to show that nobody ever knows it all. Even after doing something for a long time there are always new lessons to be learned.
The goal in life is not to never make a mistake, but to be able to fix them when we do.

That natural one looks fantastic. (Think I'd go with a different pickguard though.)

Yeah, If everybody had the same tastes as me, it'd be a pretty boring world.
I always look forward to seeing what you're building next though.

Goodness it feels like forever since I've been on here! The new acoustics are up on the website and are ready to go! Right now I am winding pickups for the bass VIs and looking forward to getting those done! I'll try to get some pics up ASAP!

Well it feels like forever since a REAL post has happened! Let's update everyone!
1) Acoustics are finished and on the website. A few have sold but not as many as I had hoped. This, and speaking with my dealers, has led me to a decision. While I am still going to build acoustics and develop more new acoustic models, For the time being I am going to focus more on electrics. That seems to be what the dealers want right now and they are a lot faster to make!
2) Speaking of dealers, I have parted ways with El Diablo here in Minnesota. I wish them all the best but they seem to be doing better with amps and pedals and I want a store that...well that sells guitars! (But Alan is a great guy and I wish his store all the best)
3) Here are some Bass VI progress pics!

Got the pickups wound and wax potted.....

And here are a couple with pickguards sitting in position....kind of...

Since I am waiting for parts to arrive I thought I'd get back to work on the ukuleles!
So tonight I did some resawing for the sides!

Here are some Granadillo scraps leftover from fingerboard making. They aren't matched at all but will make cool looking ukulele sides!

Finally this evening I got the sides dimensioned to final thickness! Pretty thin stuff when we're getting down to .07"! Looks like I will have 10 ukes in this run. 6 plain-Jane mahogany sopranos and 4 fancier models with fun exotic woods!

There are lots of other cool things that will be in the works soon including a couple special order electrics from one of our own here on ILF! Also in the next couple days I will be working on the special offer socialite that was purchased by a member!
In the coming months I will be developing 5 or 6 new electric models, a couple will be flat-top hollow bodies, as well as some more basses!
I promise I will try to get back to more regular updates!!!
