So guys, what's you experience with this one? I was super psyched to get it beforehand, but I find it to be too compressed. I'd expected the lofi-side to be uncompressed, basically, but instead it's about as compressed as the compress-side. Which is a bummer as far as I'm concerned. Of course, you can get great Boards of Canada type warbly tones from it but I keep finding myself wishing that I could turn or mix down the compression and make it sound more open and less congested. But I guess that's the whole point. Hmmm..

if you really want instant lo-fi on the cheap, just get two amps (or a pedal with two inputs) and leave one as a dummy plug on contact with some material (it'll hum, but not hum too much) and then get an EQ pedal and chop off all the bass.
bam.
instant lo-fi.

Or, even simpler, buy shitty stuff. Instantly lo-fi.

Yea, this thing wasn't too cool. Super muffled sounding. When you add distortion it sounded like a wet blanket was on your amp. It sounded cool, but under VERY limited circumstances.

I love mine. Sounds even cooler with the lofi 616

Thanks for the replies guys. I can relate to the wet blanket comment. I think I'm on to trying a pitch pirate now. If anyone of you has one lying around that you're looking to get rid off, let me know
