The best supplement for weight loss that won't mess with your body is:
Acai + Green Tea + Caffeine
(If you have a lot of caffeine already you may want to get a blend of just Acai and Green Tea)

I've been starting to run at least 5 miles a day, so that's something new. I've also got some lipid-related issues, so they recommended that I take fish oil pills high in omega-3 DHA. It has been helping, but I don't know if they're gonna start giving me a niacin and statin drug regimen. Not looking forward to that.

The caffeine will help. But there is absolutely no scientific evidence that acai does anything to aid weight loss. None of the studies done so far show anything. It's just Dr Oz-fueled woo.
I'm not trying to be a dick here, or be argumentative. It's just that this whole naturopathic, alt-med, herbal thing annoys me. If any of you guys want to read a lot about what studies actually say, and what the science actually says, check out

I like watching skate videos while riding my exercise bike. They're broken up enough to match my non-attention span while exercising.

Well, I have tried a ton of stuff, and I go by what I have felt. To be honest, working out under like an hour and a half at a time, I never felt any difference taking any type of supplement. But when I was boxing, and working out for over 4 hours at a time, I felt a huge difference. Now Acai may not directly effect weight loss, but I did notice that I was getting cut faster. So perhaps it effects something indirectly related, but I can tell you it does do something.

any purple fruit contains antioxidants, and those carry the trash out of your body (dead cells). So I can see Acai helping with recovery for that reason alone. No woo woo, just plain old science.

I just made that up but I feel like it sounds smart.
I love coke Zero, it pretty much kept me alive on my last china trip (where I lost 10 pounds!!)
Pop with cane sugar is better for you. Though, pop in general is bad. Drink 100% juice? My fave is cranberry.

That was a good article, but it own focus on degenerative diseases. I would also point out that this article is 3 years old, and there are many studies done since that suggest positives of Antioxidants and purple fruit in general on the body. There is no one thing you can take to make you thin and healthy, but consuming plenty of vitamin and nutrient rich food will give your body what it needs to keep going.
There was a study done that showed a correlation of fat to low andiox levels. Another where antioxidants inhibited the development of fat cells.
http://www.scientificamerican.com/artic ... ive-longerthat link statement is actually a "?" not a statement, the gist being that people who eat fruits and veg are already doing things that help them live longer. That some antioxidants in one fruit aren't the same as another, and you can't use antioxidants as a drug.
Just eat healthier!

Walking around campus all day, everyday is giving me plenty of opportunities to burn off a few calories. Usually involves numerous flights of stairs, too. Smoking less cigs, but no change in amount of weed consumed.
