I am a control voltage synth freak so any kind of CV control is HUGE WIN for me!

lots of sexy ideas being proposed in this thread!
theMoog MP-201 CV is the only thing on the market now as a "tap tempo CV box"
granted I could use laptop+soundcard along with Volta to do it... a nice compact pedal would really be the best.
with one of these you'll end up having to make a new tremolessence! hhahahah... it'll never end!

I have to admit I now have two Eventide modfactors and syncing them really opens up huge new sounds. but it'd be great to get this for analog processors.

that clear rate knob that'll blink is a total dope idea.
find a way to keep it secret so no one steals the idea.

Right on guys!
Scruffie wrote:Why not have a Manual expression control rather than Rate? Could be cool on a chorus.
This is cool for sure, Pete! What I was thinking is, on my CV control box it would have an expression pedal input that you could then use as a manual sweep. (You'd have the CV controller plugged into the CC and then an expression pedal plugged into the CV controller, and then you could manually control the 0V to 5V signal out of the CV controller.) Cause it does sound cool to sweep it yourself!
bronzetalon wrote:I thought copilot was doing something similar...but that might just be a expression box. Do the cv box idea but extra outputs to sync the trem and chorus (and new sdd?) would be cool.
I don't think I've noticed him working on anything like this but let me know if I'm wrong... he'd probably do a custom one while I'm thinking of using the Molten Voltage MV-53 chip rather than learn all that code! I think a few synced outputs is a great idea!
sylnau wrote:Why not having a switch selector to switch between rate and other control for the expression control?
I don't really like the idea of a toggle switch on the box that is only used by expression pedal users, I don't think it's a good use of real estate.. and the inside of the box is packed beyond full so I can't sneak one in there... I think rate and a CV input is two awesome choices that will be highly useable by that kind of user. (Same with adding a knob just for that choice, I don't think so)

Cool, Kev, thanks for that info! The Tremolessence would only need a small mod to its depth expression jack to be able to be a control voltage input. That jack already plugs into the LEDs that drive the audio so it's basically already ready for the next round. I get asked about tap tempo for the Tremolessence pretty frequently so I think it'll go over well. Not until the next batch of pcbs though, in the new year.
I just learned about that clear knob trick at Small Bear while clicking around the stock list, haha! It's a bit of a pain to implement but will look sweet, looks awesome on my bread board already.
Thanks for the ponderings, guys!

First real Ultimate Cosmichorus prototype is built! (sort of) And works!
This weekend I put together the first proto pcb and build, it still has some idiosyncrasies to sort out and I was crazy to think it was gonna fit in a 1590BB, but otherwise, it went pretty well!
The proto pcb:
Surface-Mounties done:
Through-Holes done:
I was thinking this would fit into a 1590BB, same size as the other versions of the CC, but it's too deep, it needs the 125BB size box. So I just built it on the pcb, which is a better idea anyway since I need to experiment a lot with this board.
It works and sounds great and now I just have to do some fine tunings and get a proper box!

Can we get some sound clips or a video demo.

I'm doing my best to ignore this thread. It's not working very well...

ryan, with all the real-estate on the board being used for electronics — what about the fun secret messages?
better put it on a bigger PCB, hahah
looks awesome!

That clear knob/led idea is simple and novel but so damn awesome.

Haha I know Kev! There's barely any room for goofing off!
I gotta do a cool stereo demo video, I know, I just feel lame about my demo making abilities. They look bad, they sound bad, and there's barely any Slayer riffs to play with chorus. Can't you just take my word for it that the pedal sounds sweet as? :p
