A few that come to mind:

It's a huge part of Jonny Greenwood sound. He seems to make good subtle use of it, without doing the cliche dive-bombs.

I think there are bits of it sprinkled in the song, but it can be hard to tell studio tricks to guitar fx. Most notable @ 2:58

During the chorus' and the guitar solo @ 2:58

Guitar solo @ 4:03

Some White Stripes:

Oh, and I didn't take it that way at all. I did set myself up pretty good to have to go take a trip over to Youtube.

Talk Box,
hate em: Have built the for people and still just flipping hate them.
Example of bad use: Peter Frampton: If you took away the talk box the guitar would completely suck

Good Use: Cantrell - Man in the Box, but he uses a wah now for that effect anyway.

They are just stupid because it more about a gimmic than actually playing

i know i've said it before, but i fucking hate Muse so much. i think it's because they're enormously overrated. people make it seem like Bellamy is a god of feedback. it's really not too hard with that kaossilator. i watched the guy from silversun pickups fucking destroy with 2 DD-3's buttfucking eachother that made me really respect oscillation. also made me hate the kaossilator.

whats with all the wimbish and morello hate?

they're both awesome, and I wish more people would use the whammy as much as they do.

also for more examples of what the whammy can do, check out my stuff:

That Digitech Whammy pedal, played with one once and didn't see the need. Not a fan of Ring Modulators as well - used to have one, pretty worthless!

Thank you, finally someone else, Muse blows. The dude from the Silversun Pickups has some rediculously cool tones agreed.

Btw Chris Wolstenholme's fuzz tone sucks. That is all.

Seeing this live is pretty much the reason I want a DD-3.

:idk: :whateva: Gearmond, dude, never mind. I think people just shouldn't care or give a shit if somebody has a different opinion in this thread.

This is not a thread about loving pedals other people might hate and trying to prove they don't suck. Nor is it about how great artists make good use of pedals other players find semi-okay at best. You know... this is a thread about fucking mad  HATE

....which makes this the official Scandinavian early nineties black metal thread, and everybody in this thread potential Beherit fans. :p  :p  :p

Just not a hater by nature.

I've seen Arto Lindsay rip everyone in the room a second asshole with an old Rat and a Whammy, just saying.
I've also seen Trans Am do unspeakable things to a talk box.

I love effects that I can put to work well. I don't like effects that are too complicated for me or bury me in the sonic mayhem of my band or get on my nerves any other way when I use them. When other people use them it's all about good music or bad music.

I think what bothers me is not so much the effect, but the people who see something that was a success (or innovative), and copy it to death...

short story... two black guys walk into my shop and buy autotune for $300 + Ilok for $40. they were jumping up and down like they won the lottery. one guy says to the other one "yo son we made it, we gonna be famous. MTV here we come. ITS ON NOW" I almost pissed my pants. this really happened.
