I had a Dizzy Tone a couple years ago, it was a cool fuzz in the Buzzaround family, but kinda...woolier?
I had a Sounds of Today last year, it wasn't my favorite MKI-style pedal but it's still cool. I still want to try a Pep Box and a Warmjet!

Univalve was kind enough to lend me his Ghost Bender MKI, Pep Box and Warmjet V and I've been trying them out for the last few days.

The Ghost Bender MKI is great, especially on the lower attack settings it has this beautiful growly synthlike attack in it that is just gorgeous when combined with a nice delay and if you open up the attack you get a very nice fuzz sound for chunking away on chords and riffs.

I like the Pep Box too because it also has a synthlike attack to it on lower pep settings but it's a bit more punchy than the Ghost Bender MKI, it's also much brighter sounding as this version doesn't have a tone control.

My favourite however is the Warmjet V, there's so many interesting textures in this fuzz it's really quite amazing and unique I think, it gets close to the synthlike attack from the Pep Box only it's not as brittle sounding which is a plus to me and all the other possible sounds with different bias settings make it a very exciting pedal.
It also lends itself really well for layering lines and playing sorta weird sounds that linger in the background, it's very inspiring.

I did also try out the Buzzaround and Dizzy Tone a bit but I thought it was a bit tricky to set them up because they don't have a master volume, the sounds coming out of them seemed to lend themselves especially well for chording and riffing and they can really give some interesting textures but were less intuitive for me with the synthy type of singlenote style that I play.

End of story is that hopefully Ian has time to build a Warmjet V for me.

One of these day I'll get a Warmjet V.

I hope you will, I can only wholeheartedly recommend it as I haven't heard anything quite like it yet.
