I've been wondering, what do you mean when you say "texture" board, and whats it for/do?

I believe it's his board specifically for feedback loops.

Supreme drones tonight:

Image

Deep pitch-shifting out of the Rainbow Machine, the resonance of the WSG set pretty high, and the Ghost Disaster near oscillation

It's a Music From Outer Space Weird Sound Generator. I bought the board from MFOS, and then got the rest of the parts (sans knobs and enclosure) from Mammoth. They also sell complete kits (sans enclosure + knobs) from MFOS for $90. It's a lot of wiring, but its worth it. I modded mine to have a Super Hard On at the tail of it, which I can switch on and off. I also added a power starve, master volume, and RATE LED's for the lfo's. 2 oscillators, low pass filter, and 6 toggles for different functions. I've had it for a few months and every day I find new sounds with it!

Really cool stuff. You do a great job keeping it from getting out of control. I feel like such a hack on here for not having feedback loops...guess I'm old fashioned.

I don't have feedback loops either. I honestly can't remember the last time I used a feedback loop outside of straight noise

Gozu, I'll PM you. Everyone else, thanks for the kind words!

I'm still trying to get the hang of the Rainbow Machine.

I like it, and how it can get crazy, although I must say I had to spend the entire night with it to flush out settings that I enjoyed. For guitar, instead of the deep trailing pitch shifting with the magic all the way up, I've got the pitch set in the middle with primary and secondary at about 2 o'clock, as well as the magic, to make a sort of ascending chorus type effect.
