I feel like us console-only gamers are a minority here :erm:
:mope:

Or maybe I just like games that nobody else here likes? :idk:

I think consoles are becoming an outdated concept. With the exception of a few types of games (sports, racing, fighting) they just aren't suited to a lot of the new content and functionality imo.

Weird to see that, 'cause a lot of the PC community is bitching that too many upcoming releases are being developed for consoles and then ported to PC...the upcoming Elder Scrolls; Skyrim, for example. I hang out on a hard-core BethSoft modding forum and the talk there is whether ES;S is going to be too console-centric to work well on PC.

This is true. And it's a problem, because I think consoles are becoming an outdated idea very quickly. I think it shows a poor view of the market on behalf of some of these companies.

its totally free. you can torrent the ISO or register a free account on propellerhead.se and download the iso for free. you still have to burn it to a CD or mount it with virtual drive or whatever. dont feel bad torrenting, it saves time and doesn't violate any laws as the license IS free for your own use.

Developing for a console is usually cheaper to do, given the lower hardware-spec and stuff, but then you have to come up with cross-platform compatibility for all console systems and PC to keep your publisher happy; develop for a specific format, and you lose a portion of your potential consumer 'cause they have a different format and again, your publisher gets cranky.

Admittedly, there are a few titles that have worked basically well on both formats (Borderlands and Bulletstorm, for example). But IMO, dev's should either work in specific formats only, or dev for the highest requirements (usually PC) and then cross-platform down...this was how it was done a few years ago and usually worked well. I blame publishers who came to gaming late and see it as potentially an easy money-grab.

I'm also extremely stoked on The Witcher 2 coming to Xbox 360 since I don't has a decent PC gaming rig...
