My staycation starts when I'm off today. Our 15th wedding anniversary is on Monday, so I'm taking Monday-Wednesday off.

How many amps to I have right now? 4, I sold A LOT of shit before I moved out of California. I've been thinking of buying another amp sometime soon, possibly. Since everything I have is pedal platform or bass centric, tone wise. I kind of want something with some gain to play around with.

Dunwich Mr. Grumpy (custom 300W KT88 amp)
Frugal Amps 50W Showman (budget custom build, NMV, but with 3 band EQ, no tremolo section)
Randall RG100 ES
Gallien-Krueger MB800

Stay-cations are the best (for some - I kind of hate traveling  ). I just found a really cool demo from a dude name Corey ( ) of a custom Mr. Grumpy. IT SLAYS!!!

Yeah, staycations are right about our speed, most of the time. We do big vacations sometimes, but we did a couple last year and we moved, I was off work for almost 3 months, we bought a house, remodeled most of it, I just bought a used car. We're not really up for a huge vacation, energy wise or financially right now.

Mr. Grumpy is all that is amp. The demos I recorded with Mr. Grumpy are probably the most I've played it since I owned it lol

I know that feeling. It's a great sounding amp (from what I heard) though. The comments are great too "Hey...if you decide to sell that thing...let me know...please?"

Yeah, I should record more stuff with it, it's really incredible versatile. It actually does have a decent amount of gain on tap, but it's more of a rough, not very compressed ORMAT kind of style preamp dirt. The power section is motherfucking high fidelity to the max. I'd shake my house off its foundations before I got power tube breakup.

Look man I know people get bent out of shape about their body types and/or condition. I'm just kind of bitching, but really I'm pretty trim. I just have always been a twig and then I quit working out and started drinking more and stressing with the job hunt and it took it's toll.. I lift a few times a week, and just got back to my 5 day a week routine , but my 34 pants are a little tight. I like to keep my shit in check.

It's an Oberhiem/Maestro VCF/Sample Hold Clone. The sample and hold side was acting funny. So for the rate, I would just hear clicks. I A/B'd it on a couple amps (my tube/my ss/and my headphone amp) and the same results happened. The Filter side worked wonderfully, it was just the sample and hold. Well...I figured it was a power supply issue (sometimes, pedals are sensitive). I don't have the best one but it's also not the worst. After trying one or two stand alone power supplies, I may have used my 12V DC Negative (the pedal is standard 9V DC Negative). Now the LED for the rate side is solid and the pedal doesn't make a sound. I opened it up and it doesn't look like any of the parts were fried/damaged. I also didn't smell any burning.

So while it may have been dumb to use the 12V DC...that was my go to power supply FOR YEARS. I used it on my Crybaby Wah AND DOD Grunge all through my teens.

That was what my lesson of today was. It's probably one part because the board looks fine. I think I may have found the culprit. A MAX1044.
"1.5V to 10.0V Operating Supply Voltage Range"
https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/ ... AX1044.pdf

Pardon my use of this thread and my ignorance. The pedal has 3 different chips.
1. MX1044
2. UA741 (which if I'm reading correctly can handle more than 12V http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ua741.pdf)
3. LM13700 (which if I'm reading correctly can handle more than 12V http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm13700.pdf)

Yeah max1044 and 1054 both pop at around 10-11 volts. They are cheap though.
