I've read that, in rare instances, they've accepted lowball offers.
I don't really have a strong view on it since I know why they're doing it, the main thing I have an issue with is that they started hiding certain sales that were below the threshold of resale value that they'd prefer.

Yeah, regardless of how much you can attribute it to the mothership or not, there has been a recent bubble in used pedal prices. From the prevalence of small runs selling out for resale, or used prices for available pedals being near new prices. And Reverb and the information they show or don't is a huge contributor to that.
The mothership is no different from a bunch of other people affecting the market; except they get an unfair advantage with better data and info.

The fact is that online, there's not a lot of point in being a "dealer" of secondhand gear (especially one without a physical shopfront) unless you can inflate prices to make it worth your time. And more often than not, that involves trawling low-traffic forums/facebook groups and aggressively lowballing people. Shit like the mothership and gear collectors are just getting between honest musicians and their tools. It's anti music.

$300 + $10 shipping
I don't know why there's this new trend of trying to get double what they're worth.

Because limited stock and it works often enough to convince more people to try.

Well, I search for certain items that disappear from my watch list after I get an email from Reverb telling me to Hurry Up! bc someone's made an offer. And Revrb does list recently sold items on a page on the site (although I can only reliably find that page using google, but that's probs my broken Reverb fu more than anything). And many times, the item that disappeared from my watch list is not listed on the recently sold items page, though if you can remember some of the listing wording you can find the actual listing page showing it sold (via Google, again). The rest is speculation...but some kind of fish smells a lot like red tide if you ask me....

A reliable way to search sold items on Reverb is to add "&showsold=true" (no quotes) after the item you are searching for. It will display items that were sold as well as ended for whatever reason. I learned this when a Reverb staff member posted it on TGP.
Anyway, an example. I search for Montreal Assembly under Effects and Pedals, it returns 19 results:
https://reverb.com/brand/montreal-assem ... and-pedals
Now I add the text above, and get 652 results:
https://reverb.com/brand/montreal-assem ... wsold=true
If you click on the result of a sold item that currently has a lot of listings (e.g. CT5), it will redirect you to the page for that item showing all current listings. If you click on a sold item that only has a couple active listings (e.g. Your and You're), you will be able to view the individual sold item page.
