I just watched the Idiots earlier today, actually. Pretty interesting, but in the end I think I'm more of a Dogville-person.

Hmm. If she isn't revolted by Antichrist, you hit her with Nymphomaniac.
Sexy times are practically guaranteed.

My dick will go off hiatus when I say "SEVENTH CONTINENT and chill?" and am given a "Yes". I'll take WERCKMEISTER HARMONIES and chill (although I suspect that would actually be really cool/fun) or HARD TO BE A GOD and chill.

My favorite Dreyer is VAMPYR. It's such an odd, beautiful film. I think I've only watched it with sound twice and every other time, just have it on in the background with some cool tunes or ELIANE RADIGUE or something (A+ Combo, highly recommended).
Regarding DOGVILLE, MANDERLAY...I look forward to the third movie in his 'America' trilogy. Von Trier is one of my favorite directors because he captures such a bitter mean-spiritedness that most people fall short of, or get too exhausted with to pursue. He gets great performances out of his actors. The man can't write a third act to save his life though and is hindered by his own pretentiousness (the exception being BREAKING THE WAVES).
Dogme 95 is more interesting to read about than to watch. I always tell people the best DOGME 95 movie is GUMMO (even though it isn't and wasn't trying to be...but I think like 75% of that movie was shot pretty much the way those people live).

We can let this thread die.
Really we can.
But also, this thread will probably never die.

fuck yeah, looking forward to hearing how that is....after I saw Prometheus i think it was...i gave up on everything...but then watched automata and ex machina and was like I guess theres hope in new sci fi.....lookin forward kinda to the new blade runner....i dislike that actor tho that is like luke skywalker to harrison tho...and only reason i wanna see it is because well, I really cant stand the music in the original....some tracks are cool but the obvious synth hall/cathedral verb sound was just too much with daryl hannah and that wig.

She was just...so...wonderful...
I listened to "Feedback Works" a couple times last week. It's not her best work and it pre-dates her beloved ARP 2500...but I also can't stop listening to it...probably will play it tonight. There is no such thing as a bad. ELIANE RADIGUE work.
Neon, love the new thread title man!
Comsect, check out HARD TO BE A GOD. Technically sci-fi but set in a parallel version (no spoilers) of the dark ages. I think either that or SUNLESS (SANS SOLEIL or other languages titles) is my favorite movie.
