RAM. LOTS of RAM. RAM is your friend...have LOTS of friends.

- edit for specifics - if your OS is 32-bit, it will recognize/utilize up to 3.25 gigs of RAM, and I'd recommend installing 2 x 2gigs of the fastest dual-channel RAM your motherboard will handle. A 64-bit system can usually handle up to 8 gigs at least.

I played Killing Floor for a night and have never played again.
That's when I vowed never to buy another multiplayer game just because my friend says we'll play it together.
I still ended up buying Minecraft and MNC at his suggestion, though.

I'm running w7 64bit, and have 4gigs of ram....newegg had 8gs (2x4) ripjaws for $65 not too long ago, maybe I'll look into that :D

OK, you're maxed out there.

Guesswork from the other side of the globe...

Have you tried running something like HWMonitor or Speedfan to see what's going on? Is your GPU's fan spinning up under load? You may need to get something like Riva Tuner and build up fan-speed profiles - I had to do that after finding that my 9800 GTX+ was defaulted to 50% fan speed only. Also, be sure that your heatsinks are clean.

Also make sure your computer isn't right up against something on either side, and that you don't have stuff on top of it.

In other news, I'm thinking about getting Minecraft.

So I built a giant half-underground fortress, then I died, and couldn't find my way back to it....

This time when I built a base I built a gigantic tower next to it so that I could find my way back.

I just build a giant lavafall wherever the main base is going to be. It looks awesome and serves as a defense/beacon.

ALSO, Team Fortress 2 is now free to play! We should ILF it up sometime!
