Thanks man. I may actually see if I can get a builder to overhaul it - it's got great potential. If I had more time, I might even consider doing that for ILFSS, but there are way too many variables that could affect the timing of everything. Le sigh.

However, I'm pretty feeling pretty stoked about the non-gear related parts of the gift (just sent off some deets to get something badass custom made), so at least there's that!

My mark is getting used gear, but I'm 100% sure he won't mind.

As far as opening the present goes, I'm going to try to hold out for xmas, but my mark can open his whenever the fuck he wants.

I only buy used gear, but everything my mark is getting is going to be awesome. Last year, I sent 4/5 used pedals to the EU in the hopes that he'd put together a mini board or something.
