It's true. I was a big Democracy Now! watcher for some time but I've come to realize how biased they are. Especially regarding BLM and any discussion of Islam that involves critique and the Israel/Palestine issue. What is funny about DN! is that they aren't corporate funded or underwrited. While that is important, they still rely on listener donations. Some they provide a narrative they know their listeners will like and call it "What you won't get from the corporate media."Blackened Soul wrote:yes it is, don't back down and lie to yourself, even democracy now has an agenda they are pushing and tell it in a way to make.... you.... reallllyyyyy depressed....jwar wrote:I know not all media is terrible but
that is the whole point from what I can see, instead of facing shit and dealing with it and overcoming it lets just not actually really talk about it, or lets hide behind a safety zone of things that everyone is afraid of actually talking about instead of dealing with the original issue.D.o.S. wrote:I think it's interesting how a lot of the people who say things about 'political correctness' are actually trying to steer the conversations away from topics they deem uncomfortable. Not saying that's what you're doing here.
But now if people do call you on your shit, you can dismiss them as SJWs! (Regardless of their actual politics).D.o.S. wrote:Right. "We can't talk about it because it wouldn't be politically correct" usually tends to mean "people might call me on my bullshit so I'll just pout about it"

I do think people tend to hop on the bandwagon when it suits them (on both sides). See Whirr! etc.psychic vampire. wrote:But now if people do call you on your shit, you can dismiss them as SJWs! I mean, yes. Shock value is boring, I have no interest in being the "enlightened, progressive" iteration of a bible thumper, either. People should have autonomy to form their own thoughts, feelings, and choices.D.o.S. wrote:I do think people tend to hop on the bandwagon when it suits them (on both sides).
