If you have a few expression pedal capable pedals then maybe a Source Audio dual expression pedal. I have one on the way and can tell you how it is Monday. The Moog has a good throw (how far it travels) but they do break sooner or later. The SA one has more throw than a Mission Engineering I hear.

I use an EB VP Jr (25k) with my M5...my first venture into exp. pedals; one thing to note about that is that most of the sweep seems to happen in the last 30% or so of the pedals travel.

If you're thinking of maybe getting an M-something at some point, note that it uses a TS plug rather that a TRS and that will eliminate using Jean's Expressionator. behndy had Mission build a pedal that will accommodate both TS and TRS plugs, iirc.

And that exhausts my entire hands-on (...foots-on?...) knowledge of exp. pedals.

EB is definitely the brick shithouse, but the Moog is a lot cheaper.

I think the bad sweep range is because the pot inside the EB is a volume potentiometer -> log pot- logarithmic resistance sweep. Just replacing the pot inside with a linear (lin.) potentiometer will solve this problem.
