Yeah, what’s the details? Looks pretty. I’ve yet to try a ring mod, but now that I know I’m welcome (thanks LG) I’m ready to jump in.
I’m also curious: if I get a Randy’s revenge, does it matter where in the chain it goes? That was top of my list due to the pretty trem sounds, but I have a twin peaks coming so that’s hecka covered.

Re: Ring (and/or Balanced) Modulation for the masses
Ring mod can really go anywhere. Before a distortion really can"even it out". After distortion/fuzz can really bring out different inharmonics (and in some cases, weaken them). It's more of a taste/how you want it to interact thing. I tend to run after fuzz/fizzy distortion, before pure normal distortion, before any other modulation and delay. I also like less complex gain going in/around it for clarity.
RR has a carrier in iirc (via dip)...remember you can put another carrier into to change the inharmonics content and if you split the signal you can a/b with the external carrier and use the second signal to create a green ringer like octave up effect.

- -Instrument signal vs. same instrument signal = octave up
-Instrument signal vs. other band mate instrument = somewhere between the two (just gotta balance them volume wise before the pedal)
-Instrument signal vs. external wave = sum and difference waves (like 440hz geetar and 1000 hz sine is heard as 1440 hz and 560hz)
-Plug microphone in for a talk box (or loop Ronald Reagan on tape for 80s fear guitar)
-Use a looper as a carrier to make make a kinda inharmonics (or if good at math, harmonically related) arp
-Use a rectified (only positive or negative part of an oscillation) square wave for super chop

Cool! That’s hecka ideas. Pretty partial to the 80s fear guitar. I think I’ll try to swoop one of those add rings instead. Idk. I’m torn. I need to spend a few hours watching demos to see if this is even a road I need to go down.

Yeah, (what lordgalvar said), sometimes I like the Randy's Revenge on the Lo setting before fuzz. Sometimes I like it after. Same with the Hi setting.

Re: Ring (and/or Balanced) Modulation for the masses
So I’ve had my Outer Rings for a month now and I’m finding it a little hard to integrate with my setup. It’s great, but I’ve got too many ring mods and it’s just kind of not getting the love it deserves. I’m half considering putting it on reverb, but maybe some next-level ring heads are interested in a trade? Lemme know. I’m a reasonable and trustworthy person, also I’m Canadian so you know trustworthy is a default!

Yeah it’s great, I’m already re-thinking this but if anyone is interested let me know, I’m open to talking if someone is really interested and doesn’t want to pay full price new.comesect2.0 wrote:damn would have totally asked if you were into an echo dream if I saw this earlier, got snatched this morning...the Outer rings trem transport pattern setting sounds wicked from this knobs demo im listen'n to now.

Here's a box I'm going to etch over the weekend and put in a Parasit Studio Corruptor Ring Mod circuit. This is my 5th time building this circuit and the other 4 times were fails for some damn reason that I never figured out and it has really bugged me for about two years since I've always wanted to have one. Tested the circuit and it's pretty massive sounding fuzz / ring mod with a switch to blend octave up fuzz and the ring mod. Super stoked!

I built a corruptor a few weeks ago with the straight fuzz toggle. It's pretty decent for sure. I haven't boxed it yet, and I'm quite jealous of your enclosure. Nice work!

That look super awesome! This is a really cool circuit. I built one with his additional mod board as my secret santa gift.LaoWiz wrote:Here's a box I'm going to etch over the weekend and put in a Parasit Studio Corruptor Ring Mod circuit. Does it take LFO well? I have a LFO I made up for a Nintendetar I've been looking to play around with.
