Dang man, I've been wanting to get a 12 string (4x3 style) for a while. Kelly Lemieux from Goldfinger got me into them.
An odd influence, I'm sure. He plays a Hamer Chaparral 12 string.

I have been gassing for a 12 string along time now.
Tom Perersson (Cheep trick) got me interested but Amy Humphrey is the one who hooked me.
I will get one eventually.

Maybe I'm just a mainstream lame-o, but I always associated 12-string basses with "Jeremy"

Oh, you are. You are. Nah, most everyone only thinks of one of a few things when they hear "12ver", and that's if they even have heard about it: Cheap Trick, King's X, "Jeremy" (which many argue is an 8 string), and Galactic Cowboys.
Interesting, I always thought it was well established that Jeff played "Jeremy" on his Hamer 12er.
