Got evicted from a state park for underage drinking, in the morning my friend gave me my iPod he was using and the case was full of water. When I got home I put it in rice, and when I checked of it, I found maggots crawling through the rice and all over my iPod.

Today my boss (who is on vacation all week) got chewed out by another researcher at the university I'm working at. This researcher was complaining that the one external user (outside the university) ruined the objective on a microscope we have. It's a half-million dollar confocal microscope, and we have an online database that allows researchers to reserve time for the microscopes we have. Now, the external user admits he didn't clean the objective last time he used it. It shouldn't be a big deal. But the researcher has turned it into a political issue that really shouldn't matter. She is also blaming the external user for the computer it operates on being slow and crashing. That's definitely not the external user's fault, but she has to blame someone.
So I have been checking today to make sure nobody was using the microscopes without reserving time. Lo and behold, the complaining researcher and her assistant are in there. I knock on the door and kindly ask them to reserve the time on the scope because it helps us keep a record of usage and she just complained about it to my boss. Her assistant tells me she just got in there and was about to do it. I told them they had to do it because there is a reservation at 2:30 so it isn't completely open for use. The researcher got fucking snappy and said "Well let's get started now then. Close the door now."
FUCK that makes me pissed. She complains about an objective being 'ruined' and then has the nerve to NOT respect me, the microscopy manager, when I tell her to follow a simple rule. She had to pester my boss with emails about this while he is on vacation in Florida with his wife and 5 year old son, and he cc'd me saying this ruined his vacation and precious time with his son. This combination is really disgusting. It isn't like we are strict about the microscopes either, especially for a university. We let people use these expensive scopes for free (minus the external user), and she has to make this a problem. My boss is a great guy.
This woman, in the two occasions I've met her, has been rude and obviously proud. It is a trend I've noticed in a couple of pHD scientists at the university. They think they are better than people like me (undergraduate working at a university over the summer). It really gets my blood boiling, if you can't tell by this long post. The attitude some researchers and professors get because they
may have had some success is completely inappropriate. The things I would say to these people if I didn't need this summer job...

That sucks, man, my interactions with PHDs have all been good in my college career, then again I'm in social sciences so we actually understand the importance of human interaction.

But really make it your life's goal to bring that bitch some comeuppance.

@nieh, that fucking blows dude. Were you able to dump the rice and get everything maggot free?
@grayscales, that shit is stupid and totally unnecessary. I can't stand people like that, and it blows that your boss was angry/on vacation

I generally don't have any problems with other PHDs or researchers, but a couple have really been pricks. My boss for instance is a PHD and MD, and he is one of the coolest guys I've ever met. So don't get me wrong and think I hate all doctors and educated people ever. That's hardly the case. I'm not in the science field, nor do I go to this university. But after these interactions, it is all the more clear that I wouldn't want to.
Another thing that is really disrespectful is that they never reserved time, even after I told them to. That's not cool. As professionals, they should know better than to do this. If there is a way to have comeuppance, be sure I'll unleash it.

Yeah, it sounds pretty simple. They were bitching about somebody not following protocol and fucking things up. Then, when you really looked into it (because of their bitching), it turns out they were the one's not following protocol. Talk about being a stubborn ass-baby.

waking up in the middle of the night because my jaw hurts from surgery and then not being able to get back to sleep because of solstice and it being bright light outside at 5 am. Well, that sucks.

I think it's some sort of law that you can only get song-writing inspiration when you're at work, or in the middle of the night when you should be sleeping.

It's like I always say: "I only can when I can't."

I hate that this company's website has in the "about our team" - or whatever it's called section - photos and information about everyone that works here EXCEPT the entire development and production team.
I really want to go into the site and add this to the end of the list.
Development Team

Damn. That's fucking infuriating. If someone fucked around with my microscopes like that, them fools would pay. That's just blatant disrespect for no goddamned reason.
