What is the most atypical thing about his backstory?

Idk but I just googled him. Immediately downloaded bandlab app bc it seems fun and useful, especially for us here who want to collaborate together. I’m still reading the Bloomberg article about him.
Just don't let Chank copy off your homework. He'll never learn that way.

That video did a pretty good job at killing my interest in it, honestly.
So much fucking around necessary to do anything cool with it.

Personally, I'm starting to think that I'd just prefer something like a Pittsburgh Modular Patch Box over this since it's so much easier to visualize how something works when there are a ton of cables to follow rather than just glowing squares.

It did for me as well but it's mostly because I feel like I'm too fucking stupid to use it.

People's opinions aren't homework. That's what I was askin' about.

Statistic aren't opinions, little Drumpf. You need to do your own homework, or your brain forest will never grow.

I think it feels that way, because none of these are as sexy or as deep as designs that are already in the market. I've counted 10 floor units and a desktop unit, however, that have been announced in the first month of the year.
Engl: Custom Reverb
Kilpatrick: Redox (tabletop)
Mad Professor: Kosmos
nu-X: Atlantic
Rainger FX: Reverb-X
Seymour Duncan: Silver Lake
TC Electronic: Drip
TC Electronic: Fluorescence
Walrus Audio: Fathom
Wampler: Reflection
Wampler: Spring (mini)
I'm interested in the Redox, because I like Kilpatrick and this might be something that competes against the OTO Bam, which is harder to acquire. Most of the others are fairly standard. The Kosmos is a bit surprising, given Mad Professor's previous releases. The Silver Lake is coming a year after the Andromeda, so that seems like a natural compliment. Apparently SD think they can carve out some sales against a crowded field. The others don't intrigue me personally, but a lot of people are always looking to recycle their gear. I want the Reverb X to place early in my chain.

quick overview of the neutron...i'm definitely interested in it (especially if it's <$350, which i assume it will be) and the zoia (very pleasantly surprised), but nothing else really caught my eye this year. kinda disappointed with the digitone.

Definitely curious about trying one in person. Namm really hasn’t been that impressive this year.

There's still not much available on the upcoming Voltage Modular (Cherry Audio) that was shown at NAMM. According to this rep, it's going to be "super affordable" & available in March. One thing that intrigues me is users being able to create & share their own modules. Hopefully some more details will emerge soon, and they'll launch it with some interesting options.

I think like I've been impressed with everything

especially the pedals honestly. That panel with Ben and Oliver got me really pumped up.
I'm not disagreeing or trying to start some sort of discourse. It's just funny how two people think

Even the stuff I think is 'lame' I'm at least finding comedic value out of it. As the great Dean Ween said, "If you're going to miss...miss big"
This picture is a metaphor for my Namm excitement.

@Nate, the Space Race made it to NAMM, but still no word on a release date. Hopefully that will happen in the next couple of weeks.
